Chinatown Hotel Singapore
4 out of 5

Lovely building from the outside, in good location not too far from MRT. Room clean and adequate but no windows. Reasonable value for money compared to Singapore hotel pricing generally. Pleasant and helpful staff. Breakfast a little disappointing, consisting of a toaster, a bagged sliced white loaf and instant coffee sachets. My requirement was for a bed for one night, between an evening arrival at the airport and an early morning departure by train to KL, and the hotel was more than adequate for this requirement.

A quiet area of Chinatown very convenient for MRT underground. Dry cleaning and laundry services at the hotel good value for money. If you are looking for a safe clean place centrally located then this is useful hotel if you are travelling alone or on a low budget.

I have never been so dissapointed! It was the smallest room I have ever stayed in. And we were two people in a twin room, which barely could fill one. Open the door and you alomst fell into the bed. Take the shower while sitting on the loo... I will not stay here again!

Nice surrounding with classic old Chinatown houses. Very small rooms with no windows on the ground floor. Near MRT station.

The room was too small, and the telephone did not work. Fortunately, we were transferred to another room where the phone worked, and it was slightly bigger. However, the TV reception was almost non-existent. I also did not like the much increased tariff that coincided with the International Epilepsy Congress.

The hotel is located very close to the MRT station. However, the standard of the room is very poor. The bathroom is basically a shower box - 1.2 x 1.2 square meter - the room is very small - hardly any floor space - almost could not fit the suitcase on the floor. The TV was not working probebly and the lamp next to the bed did not work at all. Breakfast was included - it consisted of toast bread that was not even taken out of the bag - placed on a counter with butter and jam. The breakfast area was very small - two small cafe tables with 2 chair each - so of course you had to stand up and eat. Well I could keep on - stayed there for 4 days by myself. Would not recommend this place and not to couples at all. Really no difference between a 1 star hotel and this place.

I had a good stay. Location is superb for MRT and great food. Front desk were very helpful. It''s a renovated old, original building so don''t expect sky rise. But it fits right in its Chinatown location. Rooms are small and the TV reception is poor, but its friendly and clean enough for a 2 or 3 day stay for 1 or 2 people. I''d go again.

Beautiful hotel in heart of Chinatown. Rooms small but well presented. Quite far from MRT on foot (though new station currently being built up the road!) but buses are cheap and frequent. Close to food street (great for cheap, al fresco Chinese cuisine) and cheap Chinese markets and shops.

Rooms were extremely small, however they weren''t particularly cramped. Great power shower. TV reception wasn''t great but it had cable so that was good. I recommend this hotel if you don''t need views or space. It had all the basics at a decent price.

A small, professionally run boutique hotel which is very well maintained. The rooms are compact but comfortable, suitable for a short stay. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good location. Represents good value for money for a hotel in its price range.

Rooms are a litttle small but as I spent most of my time sightseeing it really didn''t matter. Breakfast was a little basic but as I now know is pretty standard in hotels and with food halls everywhere, breakfast was not a problem. Staff were friendly and only too happy to help. Would recommend this hotel and if I should go to Singapore again this is where I''ll be staying.

Best budget hotel I have stayed in. This was my second visit and it is friendly and whilst facilities are limited, if clients just need a room with bed and general necessities, this is ideal and only 5 mins from Orchard Rd by taxi.

Need to bring your own handtowel since only one bathtowel available. The single bed is so small. Therefore, if you are a rather big guy, got to reserve double!

Hotel is well situated in Chinatown and provides a good guide to the local restaurants. TV stations are a little limited, only local channels. However, rooms were clean and staff very friendly and helpful. A much better choice than some souless chain hotel.

The room was very small, which would be fine, except that it had no window. The location of the hotel is excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful.
