Shaoxing Climate

Shaoxing has a subtropical monsoon climate, meaning it is humid and warm almost year-round. The average annual temperature is 16.5°C, and July is usually the warmest month with high temperatures reaching over 30°C. Annual average rainfall is 1400 mm, with the heaviest rainfall in spring from March to June and in September. There are several festivals in March; however, late fall may be the most pleasant time to visit weather-wise.

Getting There & Around

Shaoxing is highly accessible by plane and bus. The nearest major airport is Xiaoshan International Airport, which serves a number of domestic flights and flights from around Asia. From the airport, it’s easy to get to downtown (20 km away) by bus or taxi. Shaoxing can also be reached by bus from any city in Zhejiang Province.

Downtown Shaoxing can be navigated on foot. There are plenty of relatively cheap taxis, minivans and tours that can take visitors to the major attractions located a bit farther away.
