Lijiang Climate

Lijiang is located at a high elevation but at a low latitude, which results in a subtropical highland climate. Therefore, the winter months are sunny and dry with mild temperatures during the day but freezing temperatures at night. The summer is much damper but warm, with temperatures average 22ºC.

Getting There & Around

The nearest international airport is found in Kunming; however, Lijiang has its own airport with domestic connections. Besides flying, there is also an overnight train that travels between the two cities. Sleeper buses also travel to and from Lake Dali.

Once you have arrived, it is possible to get around the city on foot. There are also public buses that travel around all parts of town. To reach attractions and destinations outside of the town, it is best to hire a car and driver, as the roads are very bad.
