It starts in Guiyang on the shores of the Nanming River, site of many important landmarks, monuments and attractions in the city. The river is a small offshoot of the Wu River, which itself is a tributary of the mighty Yangtze. Together, the rivers connect Guiyang with important population centers in Sichuan and Hunan province. Must-see points of interest in the city include Guiyang Zoo, the Temple of Great Fortune and the Pavillion of the Man of Letters.
