The capital of Jilin province may not be on the radar of most new visitors to China, despite the fact that more than 7 million people live in the big city. Changchun however, is easy to fall for. As the de facto center of north east Asia, the city is a major transportation hub. Changchun is quite diverse and attractive to explore, with many wide, open boulevards, public parks and pedestrian squares that teem with life and the vibrancy of a city on the rise. Must-see attractions include the Museum of Imperial Palace of Manchu State, Changchun Film City and South Lake Park. Jingyuetan National Forest Park, though outside the city center, is worth a day trip.
