Chiltern Hotel Luton
4 out of 5

No free upgrade this week. 3rd floor not first. Only difference is bathroom not finished well and water pressure bit low.still very clean and a bargain price. If you can stay in the UK in a clean warm place cheaper and get reward points to use for personal use then well done you. Staff always helpful. Clean towels every day. Only true downside is road noise. But then it gets me up if I forget my alarm! Not a place for a lie in.

helpful staff, friendly check in etc. room clean and newly refurbed. Think i got a free upgrade for some reason that I couldn't quite understand. Back again next week so will advise if without upgrade is a different experience.

A pleasant stay overall, definitely best in the area. Would go again. The interior is better than you'd think than going by the picture of the outside. Food is excellent. Service was only average - could be more proactively helpful and also better in dealing with those who don't speaking English very well.

Got this for a great price, room was fine and comfortable. A bit noisy outside. Restaurant closed at 9.30pm when i arrived so don't expect food if arriving late. Opted for a walk through a few housing estates to a local kebab shop instead which was the only food in the area at that time.

We had a meal in the Restaurant and the food was excellent. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The rooms were quite small but had everything in that you could want and were very clean.

The hotel was operating under receivership, and there were real problems that a very pleasant staff were having to work under. The hotel needs refurbishment, and a new owner to give the place a fture. Staff -exellent Hotel itself -poor

Room, rate, parking all ok BUT ... No AirCon - room very, very, very hot. Cannot recommend under any circumstances if temperatures are on the high side (75F or higher)

The hotel is quite shabby and could do with a major revamp. The rooms, although clean are in need of redecoration and the bathroom looked old and dirty.

Pre-booked a baby cot via the website. Wasn't in room on arrival, had to ask for it 3 times before it finally arrived (11:45PM).

The Chiltern Hotel Luton is not prepared to deal with scorching temperatures over 30 degrees Celsius - there is no air conditioning! If you are in a room at the front of the building, which is where the sun shines for most of the afternoon and all evening, you hope that the windows will open wide. In our case, they didn't. But do not let this put you off. There was a fan in the room, and that made the heat bearable. Other than that, the hotel was great: the staff were friendly, the room was clean and quite cozy, breakfast was delicious!

A very tired looking hotel in desperate need of a cash injection and some air conditioning/double glazing. Had to be moved from my first room due to a blocked sink. Second room had obviously been refurbed fairly recently, but looked like it needed doing again! The price was reasonably cheap but as the old adage goes 'you pay for what you get' and I would certainly rather pay an extra a night to stay in somewhere like a travel inn than stay in the Chiltern again.
