The Chiangmai Gate Hotel is situated in the prime location of Chiang Mai - the Wua Lai Community, an old silverware manufacturing community where the fascinating lifestyle and activities of the locals can be discovered and experienced. The hotel is conveniently located on Suriyarong Road, only about 200 metres from Chiang Mai Gate and the heart of the old city, yet in a quiet area where guests can feel fully relaxed.

Chiangmai Gate Hotel provides nicely decorated rooms in a traditional Lanna Thai style. Elegantly designed, all the rooms are comfortable and provided with full facilities to make your stay as relaxing as possible.
Restaurant
Palm Tree Restaurant offers wide variety of International and Thai dishes for breakfast, lunch as well as dinner with lives music nightly. Relax in the Lobby Lounge where friends and groups can meet over for drinks.
General
The hotel offers fully-equipped function room for flexible gatherings to organise various important events. Locals and tourists can also go shopping for the cheap handicrafts of silk and silver at the handicraft market of the Wua Lai Community on every late evening of Saturday.

curtain in bathroom are full with mold, bath towel is dirty and grey color ( it used to be white , I think ) definitely not stay here anymore.

Good overall , but some details where not so good , but for the price , it's a good hotel , with good good service

This is an unpretentious "value" hotel. For a low price you get a reasonably comfortable room and a decent breakfast buffet with a made-to-order egg station. We had a good view from our 5th floor room. The basic laundry services were (shockingly) only 40 Baht per Kg, on par with outside services. One downside is the tired rooms. The toilet was difficult to flush (they were supposedly working on it, but no progress in 3 days). Nearby are many cheap, cheap food stalls at night. And on Saturdays there is an excellent, huge night market nearby. It's a very long walk to the main touristy areas. The red busses can be had for 20 Baht (tell them where you want to go and ask how much). Tuk-tuk might be 50 Baht (negotiable). Another weakness is the internet - 50 Baht per hour and didn't work well. In summary, it's a good choice for those wanting to save money, but avoid if you want to be pampered.
