Causeway Inn On The Mall Melbourne

Great position in Burke st Mall laneway, doesn't get much better location. Our room was small with a leaky Air-conditioner that we had to put towels under to try to prevent carpet getting soaked. The bathroom was tiny with a very small shower (no bath either). A large person would struggle in the shower for space. The King bed was good but was 2 beds pushed together. The rooms in the Hotel could not access Channel 7 hence we sadly missed coverage of the Australian Open Tennis. The hotel tried to fix it but failed, a lot of other people were complaining with no success. The included breakfast on level 2 was ok but very limited and basic, and was exactly the same every day.

Well located, comfortable hotel in great location. Handy to shops, cafes and attractions. Short tram ride to Melbourne Park Tennis Centre, MCG & Ethiad Stadium or all within half hour walk. Continental breakfast good & included in price of room.

Great experience, the motel is in an excellent location right in the middle of town. Great for shopping and tram at doorstep. Room was clean and tidy and decor nice. Yummy breakfast included in price. Overall fantastic and would definitely stay again.

Stayed 6 nights in November. Staff consistently helpful. Bedding is clean but basic in that pillows are almost flat. the edges of the rooms could be vacuumed. We have stayed before and consistent on each visit. The location is great! Thanks. Value for money with breakfast as part of the deal.

Had everything you would want for a comfortable trip, great central location in the mall, friendly staff, plentiful breakfast and very good value for money. If you have a wife that shops like mine, you WILL need a bigger room!! Can be a bit small, if that's the only criticism. Oh most importantly - the shower is GREAT!!!! I pretty much base my hotel experience on a shower quality! :)

An ideal base for exploring the lanes. Simple, clean, with comfortable beds and ample breakfast, we have made Causeway Inn on the Mall our jumping off location whenever we visit Melbourne.

Stayed 3 nights here. Other than location, this hotel is nothing special. Room was way too small and bed wasn't that comfy either. Should pay a bit more and find another hotel. Not all but staff were friendly.

Great Location and Value, would stay there again for sure. Only thing shower heads need changing or water pressure is low? but otherwise most enjoyable.

Room was a litle small but very clean and amenities worked well. Fantastic location in middle of city centre, so although the hotel does not having dining facilities there are many cafes, restaurants etc. nearby. Continental beakfast was plentiful, fresh and breakfast room well apointed.

I stayed at this hotel for one night. I didn't want to spend too much money on a room just to sleep in so this hotel was perfect. The location is great, the rooms and bed in particular very comfortable. Basic amenities provided, including a small fridge, tea and coffee, milk etc and toilettries. Staff are friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back to this hotel for a short stay.

Lift out of action first day bit vof a nuicense. Only problem was that to get above level 2 you have to walk through breakfast room to next lift. Apart from that the rest is good= great location rooms were good no problem with sound would stay there again.

Great location but the service was just weird. I arrived late which was fine but the lift wasn't working so I was told to walk up two flights of stairs and then take the other lift. Not what I wanted at the end of a long day. As I'm making my way upstairs the clerk comes rushing after me because he thinks he's put me in the wrong room. But then he decides that it's okay. The room was poky with not much room around the bed. But it was cheap and the location is fabulous so the Fawlty Towers comparison was quite amusing.

The hotel was in the most perfect location. The rooms were comfortable, but basic. If you are only looking for a comfortable bed close to the city. This is ideal. Quirky cafes on the door step, as is public transport.and shops galore.

1st time in Melbourne in over 30 years......loved Melbourne.... Cuaseway Inn was pretty good as well.... a couple of things could be a tiy bit better... size of rooms could be a little bigger for comfort and a hot breakfast would made 110 out of 100. Cheers WELL Done

On arrival room was not ready so told to leave bags and they would ring when it was. Never got a call so went back at 3pm only to be told by another staff member it had been ready since noon. Went up to the room only to find a tv that was no bigger than a computer monitor stuck in the corner, the width of the room could not take 2 adults with arms outstretched, the bathroom was so small that 2 people could not fit in it at the same time. The carpet was filthy and it smelt mouldy.Asked for another room and told it would be a $12 upgrade. Well on having seen the new room it was only about 1 metre bigger, still smelty and same size tv. Could not have stayed in it for the 6 nights. Spoke to staff who suggested we change hotels but no refund so we were stuck with the causeway chain. Moved over to hotel Causeway and that began another event. We are not that fussy but for the price they were now charging we could have stayed in a much better quality hotel for same price or less. Don't start me on the so called breakfast!!!! Would not recommend this chain of hotels ( especially this hotel) to anyone who would like an enjoyable holiday.

If you want a place in the city that is central that you can walk to any city location or transport, this is perfect. The rooms are small but large enough. Holiday in the city, not the room. The car park is a short walk but is excellent value. Current charge was $16 weekday or $6.50 for weekend exit. We left our car there 6 days and it was $16, that's less than $3 a day to park in Melbourne CBD. If driving in do your bag drop from Little Collins Street and then take your car to the car park. would certainly stay here again.
