Casa Munras A Larkspur Hotel Monterey Guest Reviews
I go to Monterey Bay at least once a year. This is the 2nd time I've stayed at Casa Munras and will book again for all future trips. The entire hotel is inspired from an old Spanish hacienda. Each room as it's own separate entrance, so it feels homey and loading/unloading luggage from the car is a breeze. We got the King size bed with fireplace. The fireplace is gas and cute, but it really doesn't make a difference with heat. Overall, hotel is very clean and well kept. The staff is friendliest and most helpful people! They are eager to make your stay enjoyable. It's just nice to be around genuinely nice people on a get-away trip.

This was a family vacation (2 adults and 2 kids). The room was clean, quiet, and the beds were very comfortable, a rarity in hotels. The staff was super friendly. They have a small library with books and DVD's, complimentary "Spanish coffee" and a very nice lounge. The location couldn't be better. It was close to the wharf (10 mins walking) and plenty of restaurants.

My partner and I stayed here 3 nights. We generally stay at boutique hotels that are a step up from your average hotels. Casa Munras met our needs and provided good value with the Cozy Queen room. The bed was very comfortable with down pillowtop and comfy pillows. The bathroom was spacious with thick fluffy towels. We wanted extra pillows, towels, and hangers which the hotel staff accommodated. Our room didn't have a safe nor A/C, though there was heat and a ceiling fan. Our heater didn't work when we tried it but the staff was very helpful and able to fix it while we were out for the day. The walls were somewhat thin so i could hear people in the hallways and in their rooms if they were being loud. There was lack of ventilation fan and extra towel racks in the bathroom. The location was great for us as it was walkable to shopping and restaurants. (Tip: try Restaurant 1833 around the corner, it's amazingly good fine dining and cocktails) We liked the free self parking, since we had a rental car with us. The hotel's location is very central for quick drives Pacific Grove or Aquarium/Cannery Row, and also for longer trips to Carmel or Big Sur. All in all Casa Munras is a great value. If you are looking for a less expensive boutique-style hotel, then Casa Munras fits the bill as long as your expectations aren't too high.

The hotel was nice. It was cozy but not the 'cozy" that people say when they want to describe an old run down hotel. This place was cute and had a cozy vibe that was just what I was looking for. The location was great also. Our first night was on a tuesday and there was a farmers market going on in downtown which was only a few blocks down. Great location with walking distance to the wharf, aquarium, downtown, and also the fun historic monterrey that runs right along the neighborhood.
