The Nanaimo Airport, Nanaimo-Long Lake Water Airport and Nanaimo Harbour Water Airport service flights to Nanaimo and provide direct service to Vancouver. Ferry, train and airport shuttles get travellers to town.
The city has excellent bus services that include bicycle racks and handicap-friendly features. There are many taxi companies that get travellers to just about anywhere they wish to go, or tourists can hire a vehicle to explore the area.
