Markham Climate
Markham has a four-season climate with warm summers and cold winters. Snow often starts in late October and doesn't end until April. Summer is the nicest time to visit and the most interesting if you want to visit some of the working farms. The average high in summer is 25°C, and the average low in winter is 15°C. There are also lakes around the area and, of course, the fall foliage is beautiful.
Getting There & Around
You can fly to Markham and land at the Toronto-Buttonville Municipal Airport. There is also a commuter train from Toronto. Should you decide to drive, highways 404 and 407 intersect with Markham.
Once in Markham, you can get around by public transit, which includes both buses and trains. The fare goes up if you cross into Toronto, so many locals choose to drive instead if that is their destination. You might take a taxi, or you can drive around yourself.
