Cairns Sunland Leisure Park Guest Reviews (27)
DO NOT STAY!!! I RECOMMEND YOU END YOUR PARTNERSHIP AS IT WILL DAMAGE YOUR REPUTATION I booked this hotel for my sister and her husband to stay in as a base during their recent move to Cairns. They reported the premises was so disappointing they didn't even take their bags out of the car and found alternative accommodation. The photos on the website are exceedingly deceptive. The pool is surrounded by an ugly iron fence and this is the view the poolside "cabins" have. The cabins themselves are nothing like the attractive ones in the pictures, they are cramped transportables. The bed linen was threadbare, grimy and there were visible bedbugs. The staff were extremely unhelpful and would not even consider a partial refund. I was a little worried after making the booking because I found many similar reviews on other travel websites but was reassured that supposedly the park had new management. If this was the case the new staff are following in the footsteps of the old. The location is handy to everything but not worth the bad points and some travellers may be daunted by it being in a slightly down market suburb. There are other caravan parks within the inner city area that are vastly superior, cheaper and my sister and family were delighted to stay in one. $1000 mistake and disappointing start to my sisters new life.

Stayed for two nights to set up for our 4WD trip up to Cape York. Good accomodation with lots of space to sort out our luggage and store the supplies after shopping before setting off to the Cape. The neighbourhood however is not so good. Staff were friendly and helpful, but shop was expensive. Overall a good experience.

In the end it was good value for money. But check extremely carefully when booking via a webroker as after requesting a room for two, I actually booked a parking bay for a campervan - not the only person to have done so! On site barbecues a free and easy to use. Walk into into town will take almost an hour but there is a convenient bus stop outside, last bus home 1140pm. Recommended.

Althogh I incorrectly booked a site for a camper, a villa was available, and I was upgraded with no problem. The facility was very beautiful and well-kept and transportation into town was easy via the city bus which ran every 30 minutes. However, I was informed not to walk about outside the facility after dark as mugging rates were the highest In the entire Cairns area. Had no problems during the day, however.

This is a great place to stay, it is close to bus stop and local shops and diners. i had a budget villa which had a full size fridge, toaster, kettle, tea and coffee and milk. the staff were friendly and very attentive, the pool was lovely, i dont have kids but there were some there when i went and they were having a ball with the pirate ship and slide. Shared bathroom was clean and usually had it to myself. i would definitely stay here again.
