Varna Climate

Varna has a subtropical climate that is quite humid due to the nearby sea. Summer temperatures can get very hot, surpassing 40ºC on some days, but winter temperatures can drop well below zero at night. Total precipitation for the year is more than 500 mm.

Getting There & Around

You can fly directly into the Varna Airport, which serves many major airlines and has bus and taxi service to downtown and the outlying resorts. Trains from Sofia and other cities arrive daily at the station near the city centre.

This resort town is really a spot made for pedestrians, especially along the shore of the sea. However, there are many bus and taxi services which bring people from the suburbs to the coast every day. Tourists should review the stated fares, because drivers will often overcharge.
