During our short holiday we stayed in the "very best" and in Budget Patricia. Even though the room was a little small we loved it in Patricia and the genuine warm service we got from Linsay at the front desk made the whole stay even more delightful. A very charming place. . .

A friendly little place that won't appeal to everyone due to it's location. It sits on the edge of a Skid Row unrivalled by any other I have seen apart from downtown Los Angeles. We are talking about six blocks largely populated by junkies, alkies and homeless people. However that can be avoided by walking a different route, using taxis or whatever. Easy to access downtown, Chinatown and SoMa (by bus) and very, very affordable so if you just view your hotel as a place to sleep you'll be alright here!

I was very happy with the hotel, in particular the staff were most helpful! Let's be totally honest, the neighbourhood is a bit disconcerting but there has to be some comprimise when you find a room as inexpensive as this one...

The service at the hotel was actually excellent, but I didn't get a couple of wake up calls probably due to some malfunction. The day desk dude was the best, going out of his way to be helpful while remaining calm and collected amid myriad faces stupidity. And if you like crack, ho's and mentally disturbed dirty drug addicts, this is your kinda neighborhood. That said, the locals never seemed very threatening. The room was small, but clean and nice. I liked staying there.

Budget accommodation close to downtown but not in such a nice area

The large neon sign and the lobby were the nicest thing about this hotel. The floor smelled badly, and our room smelled even worse. There was not any air conditioning and the ventilation was very poor. Only one window out of two opened in the hotel room and there was not any ventilation in the bathroom. It was quite smelly indeed. The hotel decorum was quite old indeed, the 70's, and early 80's indeed. It did not have a clean feel to the place. On a positive note, the bathroom was quite large, but unfortunately the other drawbacks mentioned took away from it. We stayed only one night for 120.00, but immediately went to another hotel, the Best Western, a far better hotel a little farther away near the Richmond Center for only 90.00 .

I stayed at this hotel for a week so it is obviously suitable. I had 5 suitcases and fit them into room without being cramped. The location although short walk to downtown is in an 'undesireable' part of town. Though quite harmless one could feel a little uncomfortable. The lobby is very comfortable and maybe the best I have seen with a public computer with internet access or wireless in lobby for those with a lap top. The lobby and hotel holds an atmoshere of it's own which I found very pleasant. The bed was very comfortable also.
