It is what it is... Don't expect anything and you will not be disappointed. One note - My room was very noisy. Apparently there are clubs around it and groups of noisy people were hanging around late at night.

The hotel needs a major renovation. From the outside it looks terrible. The reason I stayed twice is the very convenient location. Its shabby but I guess most of the guests are short stay via travel agencies and bus tours but for me staying for over 2 weeks, it was the convenience only.

Overall cleanliness was good, however thick dust at the bottom of the wardrobe, for the price we paid was a bargain, One major reoccurring incident that housekeeping left our room door unlocked, this was reported to reception who stated our complaint would be passed to the manager. The following day on returning to our room in the evening found again our room door left unlocked this also happened to our friends room next to us, yet again complaint made to reception. It seems the security of our possessions was not a priority, a written complaint have been made to head office, 3 weeks on no reply received yet.

The hotel rates support the standards within the hotel. The hotel does require major updating and its like stepping back to the 1970's. The hotel reception staff are not very customer focused. My stay was OK but the hotel could do with a complete re-vamp. The postive is that it is in a central location.

Old (Mid 20th Century) concrete high rise building. Room was spacious with separate toilet and bathroom. Dated facilities but nethertheless comfortable and convenient. Fantastic price for a great city centre hotel. 1 minute walk from a decent Bar/Restaurant plaza.

Stayed at this hotel for an event at the Ricoh Arena. Parking wasn't clearly understood until we pulled up outside the hotel and asked at reception. Parking is on a pay & display car park, however the hotel do cover some of the cost. We were first given to keys to a room and when we opened the door found someone else was already staying in that room. After being allocated another room, this room was clean but had a stale smell of cigarettes and as non-smokers we found the smell never disappeared even leaving the windows open. We didn't use the hotel for food however had a drink in the bar and found the prices very reasonable. Considering the price we paid for the room, we can't really grumble. The hotel is very centrally located for the City centre.

Very good access to bus station and to Coventry University. Better than expected interior for the price I paid (£30) - walk-in price is nearer to £100.

Very much in need of renovation. Service especially in the restaurant and bar poor and in the bar, the large TV attracted a clientele which did not encourage hotel visitors to stay,

Hotel built over a road next to bus station so could be noisy at times. It is also next to the cathedral, opposite the transport museum and two minutes walk from the city centre. Good hot buffet breakfast. Room okay but decor and fittings dated.

My bathroom was not cleaned to the standard it should have been. The silicone sealant around the bath was tattered and dirty, the tiles above it were filthy, the toilet flush handle was nearly falling off and there was no hot water to shave or shower. The main gents toilet by the bar needed a good clean from top to bottom. The sound of buses and traffic was deafening in the room.

Furnishings a little tired but pleasent, must have been short staffed as breakfast tables uncleared and staff unattaintive. Breakfast tasted great although, very little choice beyond full english.

I always prefer proper duvets in hotels instead of sheets and blankets, unfortunatly this is a sheet-and-blanket job. Reception staff were helpful and friendly but not always there when you wanted them. The room was a good size, and clean. The breakfast was fantastic! And the restaurant has a really nice conservatory section which was great with the patio doors open in the hot weather. The bar is ok but a bit dark inside. The hotel is ideally located right in the middle of the city, next to the Transport Museum and bus station, very easy to get to. I would recommend booking in advance on the internet though and getting a deal, as the prices people were paying on arrival were rather high.

Britannia Hotel is very well located in the heart of Coventry with walking distance to the Cathedral and the restaurants in the down town. In case of riding a bus the hotel is situated just across the road from the station and this makes the hotel a good starting point for a journey.
