When you are inside the hotel the food and people working there are polite and friendly. I did not liked some staff at the reception because the had a lack of experience to solve a problem when checking in [not customer driven and not really problem solving]. I requested for the manager but unfortunately not in that day. I was with friends who were just married and i want to add 1 person in my room and in my opinion i had to pay too much!! We did it because do not want to spoil holiday of married couple, but all 4 were thinking to cancel our booking and to go to another hotel and to pay 1 night cancellation fee.....Later on we have spoken to general manager...who appologised and said next time do not pay wait on me and than we will find a solution....

the staff and property were very comfortable and pleasant. The rooms could use some more warmth and cleanliness. The staff was very friendly, and the food was very good. I wish there were some sort of gift shop on the premises.

The staff are exceptionally friendly and remember me whenever I come there. It is a small resort, close to the beach. I go there by myself and do not feel out of place. Even the vendors on the beach are friendly and not too pushy.

Hotel and staff was very nice. Loved the swim up bar and the beech. Room was always clean along with clean towels and sheets. Food was OK. Didn't like the breakfast buffet and wish that the dinner and lunch buffet could have been more latin foods, it was mostly american foods, but it did its job. And I couldn't find the 24hr snack bar. Didn't like the fact that every corner you turn someone is trying to sale you something. People in the hotel, people in front of the hotel and people on the beech. I did love the hotel and I would go back.......

Hotel common areas and beach where not bad,rooms where quite dated,but clean. Food had a nice assortment from day to day.. The ala carte Oriental rest. was spectacular,the other 2 where ok! We would like to say that the staff was SPECTACULAR!!!!!!! The whole Puerto Plata area is very nice,with beaches as nice as any place else and we have been to most of the islands and Mexico several times!!!! For the price we paid,we where very pleased!!!!
