The hotel need renovation or new owner. Location: not so far from city centre Room: very old decor with old furniture, broken items (had broken lock on the window), cold room, broken items, spider web on the wall. Service: All hotel staff have " I don't want to be here" on the face. Place should be demolished or erased from booking sites. Hotel is only perfect for Halloween night.

Hotel is situated a short distance from Birmingham city centre and has restaurants, pubs and takeaways nearby so great for being able to catch a bite to eat. The hotel is a bit dated and grim in itself and a bit creepy at night but was generally clean and room facilities were ok. Walls in the hotel are very thin and I was kept awake by traffic noise and the man in the room next door snoring. It sounded as if he was right next to me, the walls were that thin. All in all, it's not a great hotel but fine for somewhere to kip overnight and great value at about £15.00 a night!!!

I was nearly 300Km from Home and happen to make a courtesy call whilst in Birmingham and found out that they were FULLY Booked although I had confirmed Booking. I was stranded. I had to go back home.

On arrival at the hotel we was greeted with a smile and a warm welcome from the receptionist. On arrival to our room it appeared a little dark due to the colour decor of the room, and old antique furniitures. In order to watch tv from our bed we had to re- position our bed in a different part of the bedroom and to our horror many pieces of the furniture had more than a months worth of dust and the carpet under the bed had not been vacumed for a couple a months due to the amount of dirt under the bed. Food in the restaurant was ok. I would stay again at this hotel but would ask that the rooms have some serious cleaning and polishing before we occupy a room. Thanks again.

Small frontage but huge inside, lots of corridors and stairs so could be difficult if mobility not good, when I got to the room what a suprise, I had a bedroom, a sitting room and a bath/shower room, all very clean, it was quiet and I really enjoyed staying there will definately go again.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, although the hotel was clean the room smelt very musty and the layout was not very practical. The price of the room did not reflect the quality of the hotel. Not the worst hotel I've ever stayed in but I wouldn't recommend this hotel to a friend.

defies description. Was annoyed that the room had no telephone or hairdryer as stated. The tea/coffee in room was sparse and the room needed a good clean. However, for sheer value for money and quirkiness of the place it was great!! The eclectic style in the rooms is 'unique'! A cross match of victoriana, gothic, 30s influences.. The location is fantastic with good selection of eating places on the doorstep, city centre is 4 miles away costing £8 in taxi one way. Would stay again because of thebprice!
