There is easy access to CBD via tram, actually even within walking distance if you're a good walker. Great little pub (Prince Patrick) nearby and Vietnamese and Thai area just up the road.

Birches is good value and well situated for families and business travellers alike. It is not 5 star, but it doesn't purport to be. Our apartment was clean and functional. Some of the fittings could do with an update, but everything worked. The reception staff were pleasant and helpful, and the onsite parking at $10 per day was reasonable. It is within a 10 minute walk of the MCG and Tennis Centre. There are a number of cute cafes and restaurants within a few minutes walk, and tramlines are also close by.
