The Hotel looks fantastic! Staff is very nice. I like the location of it. Great to stay out of city, but not to far If you need something.. Car park free and internet free;) The negative in my stay... The room wasn't very clean... just quick turn over, so I did not feel very confortable.. Bed was clean. I could not sleep, I had a water boiler, or something just behind my wall, making noise during the night, so I could not sleep untill 4:00AM. I did not complain about my room becouse I come back to the hotel quit late. Did not feel comfortable to change everything in the last night of my stay.

This was a reasonable stay, the drive along the road leading to the 'Castle' made for a great first impression. Once in the room we discovered the shower was dripping, after laying the movable shower rose in the base of the shower, we could no longer hear the drip drip drip. There was quite a bit of mould in the shower, which did not look particularly inviting.

Stayed two nights midweek on business trip. Rooms in the main accomodation wing are a bit on the small side but perfectly adequate. Main reception rooms bar, restaurant and lounge beautiful. Restaurant was very good. Staff were excellent. The location is excellent - rural area lovely view over the estate. Offers free wi-fi. Will definitely use this hotel again

There was a wedding at the castle the night and next morning of our stay, so we did not get to experience the full facilities of the castle.

Don't expect a romantic weekend away here, it is very much geared up to the conference market, which is a shame as the building and surroundings are beautiful. Everything is very tired and needs some tlc, but having said that our room was absolutely fine, spotlessly clean, bathroom lovely, and the views wonderful. Bar prices and food prices absolutely extortionate but there is an excellent carvery in the village that does a carvery for £3.50 Monday to Saturday!

very much enjoyed my stay at this hotel. however it is not near to anything and the hotel lacks any facilities no swimming pool no gym and the bar there is tiny.room was small and in a bad state floor boards moving and skylight in bathroom had leaked and left a nasty brown mark. room was also very outdated. i feel a little pricy for what you get. i feel i would not stay here again

When we arrived at our room it was boiling hot even though there was no heating on, so all we could do was open the window to cool down - not a great solution in December! The room was small but nice enough, although didn't have much castle ambience about it, and the bathroom was lovely. The only other complaint was that we only had one bath towel and one hand towel between the two of us and that the room wasn't cleaned or the supplues replenished in the three days we were there. Having said all that, overall I absolutely loved the hotel. The feeling of staying in a castle was incredible and the views from the dining room over breakfast were beautiful. Added to that, the staff were all very friendly and happy to help which made the stay perfectly enjoyable and the hotel highly recommendable!

The hotel exterior and ground floor interior were stately, however the rooms were clean and of a reasonable size but characterless. This is probably because it accomodates the conference market, and we paid conference prices, so no real complaint there. The main problem was with the evening meal. We thought the menu and content would be in keeping with the surroundings, and were sadly mistaken. We travel frequently, and have never encountered such a disparity between the cost and what was received. An unimaginative 1970's limited table d'hote menu, that could have been produced by a school dinner lady on their limited budgets, was accompanied by a 5* cordon bleu price tag - never again. A footnote - the breakfast the following morning was a complete contrast high quality and excellent choice.

Although the food was good the service in resturant was poor, due to untrained staff. Reseption staff were very good.

Staff pleasant friendly and helpful. Very quiet when we were there. Lift was out of order. Food and drink on the expensive side. Excellent choice for breakfast(but no kippers). Beautiful location but not within walking distance of anything. Ideal for a peaceful weekend.

My boyfriend and I had room 302 which was a lovely room with a big bath and shower with fantastic views across the countryside. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good, lots to choose from. We would definitely go again. We had a superior room as a last minute deal and paid £56 for the room (usually £145).

When we stayed, there were a wedding party. And when we came back the hotel at night, there were big big music (having dance). The front was very noisy but it was OK because our room was quite quiet.
