Best Western Sheldon Park Hotel

The staff were friendly and attentive though unable to answer some questions in regards to transport on an evening over the holiday period. Instead we gained this from the local Tourist Information. As a keen internet user I wanted to use the facilities provided. The computer that was provided by the hotel however was unable to link to any general websites including google and yahoo email! This was extremely disappointing as I had tickets to buy and wanted to see what was going on in Dublin. Other than these disruptions the hotel was basic yet clean and tidy. I had no problems with noise and the breakfast was good value for money. Though the hotel is quite far out in an industrial area the transport links are very good. I would recommend this hotel for people on a budget.

Hi! Me and my family lived at this hotel for a weekend, and I have to say that we are very satisfied with it. The lady in the reception was one of the most helpful and nice receptionists I have ever met, and helped us with anything we asked. The facilites are good, with a nice pool and workout center. The bar is also good. The only negative is the food in the bar/restaurant which was under par. The rooms were cozy and clean with a bathtub, which is a big plus. The shower though was poor, and you ended up taking a bath anyway. The other only downside was the distance from the city. With only the Luas, which was often packed, taxi was the only good way of getting here. Summary: All in all a good place, and great value for the money. Good facilites, nice staff, cozy rooms . The only downside was the restaurant food and the distance to city.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. my family and I have access to the Luas by way of a 5 min walk and it took us to our venue the 02. We had a great time in the leisure center where we used the pool and jacuzzi etc. My son is 9 and he loved the fact that we had a pool at the hotel. A really fun time.

Excellent stay! Will definately use again. The bedroom was very spacious, bathroom nice and clean and we had the choice of smoking or non smoking rooms. We also used the bar ajoined to the hotel and the food was excellent and there was also live entertainment on both Saturday and Sunday.

I stay in this hotel on a regular basis when I visit Dublin due to its keen pricing, excellent leisure centre and proximity to the city without being central. If I decide to go into the city centre I can either travel by car or on the Luas light rail service which has a stop 400m from the hotel. I have been disappointed with my last few visits due to the fact that the Lift has been out of service. It was out of order in September when I visited, again in October and once again on my most recent visit on Nov 23-25th. I will be returning again this weekend Nov30th - Dec 2nd. I will keep you posted on any further developments regarding the Lift and its availability or otherwise.

I commented leaving this hotel that it was probably the best nights sleep Ive had in ages, considering this hotel fronts a main road I was quite surprised at the silence at night. A spacious bar and restaurant, an impressive entrance hall and stairway with spacious reading areas. It was only for an overnight stay this time but I wil definetly return here.

Excellent hotel with good facilities and staff. Service was first class. Access to the city centre is easy - the Luas stop is about three minutes from the hotel. The cost of breakfast needs to be clarified if one is staying 'room only' but that is a minor quibble - overall this hotel provides a very relaxing stay!

30 minutes by tram, direct connection to the centre of Dublin (only 1,90 euros), perfect for the visitors that prefer to pay a little less for a nice hotel.

We could not fault the Hotel or staff. Breakfast was good, with plenty to eat. Prices for Dining Room and Bar meals were reasonable for tasty food. Taxi fare from Airport costs 41.00 English Pounds each way, allow an hour for taxi travel. Dublin City is 30 minutes away in a great Light Rail service 5 minutes walk from Hotel. Kylemore is the interchange for a number of Bus Services.

This is an ideal location if you have no need to go in to Dublin centre. Access is good from the ring road.

Really nice hotel and an ok atmosphere. Clean, warm, but wasnt keen on the fact they use blankets on the beds rather than duvets .... breakfast was extra at 8 Euros daily ...the location could be a bit of a prob if you want to be in the city centre every day as it is a good 30mins by the Luas (tram) into the centre. Very regular and dependable service but often very very busy and everyone is crushed in ... personally we liked it but some may not. First time for me in Dublin and would def go back but would prefer a more central location.

Window was broken so it did not stay open properly. The room was too warm even though no heating was on. Possibly individual air conditioning/heater units would be more suitable
