Best Western Premier Queen Hotel Chester Guest Reviews
When we arrived, we had a warm welcome at the door from Iwan the concierge - this set the tone for the whole holiday.

I had booked two nights at the Best Western Chester based on what appeared to be a lovely hotel in a good location. However, whilst the entrance foyer and the stairwell are lovely, I was not as impressed with the quality of the room. I was accommodated in the old section of the hotel. I understand that the building is an older building, however there is no climate control and when opening the window, I was confronted with the noise from the rail station immediately across from the hotel. On making a cup of coffee, the kettle failed to work and the teaspoon was filthy. Upon contacting reception, I was met with a somewhat apathetic attitude and it took them over an hour to arrange for the kettle and spoon to be replaced. Other sections of the room required attention and housekeeping was generally poor.

A nice hotel with real character very well situated next to railway station and less than 10 minutes walk from the city centre

Great deal on price but breakfast charged at 12.50 perperson in hotel or 3.85 at Weatherspoons or similar. Similarly car park charged at £7 per day of your visit, so they claw a bit back. Excellent rooms, decor very old world with statues and chandeliers and paintings of princes and queens. Good dining in Kings quarter (luxury rooms - modern building). A winner for my taste.

2 Jan to 4 Jan 09, room was clean and comfortable. For some reason we were booked into a disabled room which was not an issue but we managed to accidently set off the call alarm in the bathroom. After 1 hour, no one arrived to investigate and we reported the problem to reception, the alarm had been turned off on our return to the room later that night. Only other problem was the very noisy air con and heating system (room 1211)we even removed the card to stop the electricity into the room however it kept rumbling on every 2 hours during the night. I did report this to reception on check out. Please be aware that parking at the hotel is £7 per day, I do think a reduction should be given to guests at the hotel. Otherwise an enjoyable stay.
