Best Western Plus Encina Lodge & Suites Santa Barbara Guest Reviews
If you need a place just to rest your head while you're in Santa Barbara you really should give this place a chance. If you're used to the Westin or Hilton type places you probably won't like it here but if you're in town with some friends or loved ones and you don't plan on spending tons of time in you room, this is your place. My bf and I met another couple in SB for the weekend. The hotel was very close to State Street and that's where we spent the majority of the day - shopping and bar hopping. Then at night we grabbed some food and drinks and went back to the hotel. Our rooms were side by side and each had a sliding glass door that led out to a table with a few chairs. Yes, someone can walk right up to your slider but it's not that major - there's a curtain. Anyways, we pooled our tables and chairs, set up the food and had a great night just hanging out. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable and I thought it was cute that they provided apples, candy and cookies in the room. So again, there are no thrills to the room but it's nice. Who goes to Santa Barbara to spend the whole time in their hotel anyways??

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel very much. I was pleasantly surprised that the room had bottled water, candy, and even fruit sitting on the table for me. I did not see the usual sign that specified how much each item would cost me, conveniently added to my bill, so I went to the front desk and was shocked to discover the items were complimentary. I have to say, it's such a simple thing yet it made me feel as though my comfort was truly important. My room was very warm and did not seem to be cooling down. I went to the front desk and very shortly the problem was resolved. I will definitely look this hotel up again if I am ever able to get back to Santa Barbara.

We needed a hotel room for one night to attend a concert at the Santa Barbara Bowl. This hotel allowed a one night booking. By the time of our trip the hotel was sold out. We got there around 3 pm, and we were assigned a room which seemed too noisy for our needs ( too close to the jacuzzi) - the staff was able to one us to a room which was quieter. We would stay here again!

The hotel is very nice, nestled in the middle of SB. The amenities, pool and bar/restaurant are clean, and pleasant to the eyes. The staff is friendly. The rooms are pleasant, made daily by friendly maid service.... although the beds are a bit small (you should request Queen size or King as desired). Only complaints are that the TV channel changer was slow to respond, and there is no cable. However, for a weekend getaway for an inexpensive weekend in a beautiful city the place is excellent, and close to shopping, restaurants, theatres and the beach. 2 to 3 star place book early to hold down price even more

This was our 2nd stay there, and we love the location, easy access and ability to get anywhere in Santa Barbara in minutes. A fine choice for an off the beach location.
