Best Western Plaza Hotel Casino Quito

Let's remember this is Quito, Ecuador; not Las Vegas or Paris or Singapore. The finer hotel choices are at relative minimum. This was my third trip to Ecuador and my second stay at this hotel. I just returned this weekend, so this is an up to date review. If you are going to Ecuador on business, however, this is a terrific hotel. It is centrally located and is, no doubt, one of the top 5 hotels in Quito. The staff is professional and very helpful. The amenities provide all you really need at a hotel in Ecuador while on business, i.e., business center, exercise facilities, Wi-Fi that really works, large conference rooms, and a location at the center of Quito's commerce; and it is just across the street from the most modern, up-scale shopping center in Quito that has every store imaginable to satisfy any shopping need. It also has a large, modern food court, as well as, several other chain restaurants like TGI Friday's. I had a 2 room suite, with a large living area, that included a large desk, sofa, comfortable chairs, flat screen TV, refrigerator, coffee maker, etc. I had meetings there with 4 and 5 people and we never felt cramped. The bedroom is fairly large with more than enough closet space, and draw space for clothes. The bathroom was fairly modern with a Jacuzzi-type tub, all of which was very clean. There was also plenty of hot water. The bedroom also had its own flat screen TV. The TV cable does provide enough News and entertainment in English if you need to wind down late at night, including the MLB playoff games. The hotel also has a Casino, which I did not utilize, but seemed relatively popular. I did learn that the government is no longer going to allow Casinos in Ecuador, so that "amenity" appears to be short-lived. In summary, this is a great "business" hotel. I highly recommend it for business travelers. If you are looking for a "romantic" getaway, or you are on a modest budget, there are other hotels in Quito to satisfy your needs.
