The hotel is a very basic hotel with few facilities. The decor on the 11th floor where we were staying was depressing and the room dark and overheated. The guest provisions were miserly. The price we paid through Hotel Club was significantly higher than the rates advertised rates in the hotel. Not good value. Would not stay there again.

The hotel is in a good location. Plenty of places to eat very close by. Huge Trendy shopping area / night market about 3 - 4 blocks away, easy walk. Train station 1 block. Hotel Breakfast was poor by western standards. We ate out every day after the first breakfast. Buffet was on the menu as a choice but was never available the whole week I was there. Rooms are a bit small and dark but clean and modern. Plasma screen TV. Staff friendly and helpful. Front desk were OK but lacked knowledge on where attractions were located. Ask for Black taxi to airport do not take the hotel car offered. Taxi takes credit card and was more comfortable and cheaper. I would stay here again. Location was very good. Easy and interesting walk to temples , gardens, shops etc

Excellent choice for brief visit due central location , convenient facilities & nearby local and international cafes, bars & restaurants. Access to Airport Bus at nearby Koreanna Hotel close but difficult to reach, involved crossing very busy 6 lanes of traffic. Closest Public Bus approx. half a kilometre but no major road to negotiate.

The centrality of the hotel s good in that it is easy to find and near transportation. It would have been helpful to have leaflets or pamphlets in English to help find out places of interest.

Excellent Location. The hotel is very convenient to get in and around Seoul in. Located near the city hall subway station (~1 block away), and restaurants and convenience store (basement of the financial centre). Huge Starbucks right next door. As the hotel is located near a busy street (1-Ka Taepyung-Ro) and the only way to cross to the other side is through underground pedways. However, access to these pedways are through going down and up flights of stairs (no escalators)which may be a bit difficult if you have tired legs or luggage. The hotel was very close to a tourist information centre (across the street and located between the hotel Koreana and the Duty free ctr.) and the KNTO office (who were very helpful in providing city maps and quick translation service) located about 2 blocks away.

The location is great. The cost is an added value, especially in Seoul.

Unfortunately actually under renovation (this should be said during the reservation), outside the rooms. Rooms should be renovated as well (old fashioned, carpet in bed condition).

This hotel is in an excellent location in downtown Seoul. It is a 5-minute walk to the metro and across an alley from the impressive Seoul Finance Center. Next door is a huge Starbucks. The rooms are rather small, but immaculate. We slept better here than in most hotels. The air conditioner was quiet and efficient and the window opens if needed. Rooms with two double beds are larger than two twin-bedded rooms. The smallest rooms on the inside have no window. Male sauna on 14th floor is spacious and extremely clean and is only $5 per day per guest. Restaurant/coffee shop on 2nd floor is quite plush.

asia-hotels.com is the best way to reserve a room at The New Seoul. It was an easy process however I had to reserve an extra night while I was there and it costs more than booking through asia-hotels. I would recomend asia-hotels.com to anyone and I would also recommend The New Seoul Hotel over any other in the city. It filled my needs.

Good things:(1) The KAL airport bus stop is just across the street. (2) Room size is a value for money. (3) Internet access inside the hotel office is free if the connection time is shorter than 7 minutes. Bad things:(1) Staff speak more Japanese than English (bad for non-Japanese speaking tourists).

I was shocked to see a bill of about $75 when I checked out! On it there were charges for pay movies, which I never watched. This hotel runs adult movies on TV from 2pm onwards, you get charged for these movies even if you hit the wrong button by accident! Which I did for a moment! Twice I got charged for these movies! I demanded to see the manager of the hotel, a guy behind the counter told the clerk to take charges for one movie (he spoke in Korean to the clerk never to me) and walked away! Then there was a charge of about $35 for a four min. call to Canada. The rooms were reasonably clean but the hotel is situated between other buildings, rooms are dark, have small windows without any clear view.

Best thing about the hotel is its location. Its services are really not great, though the staff was fine. The room might have been good in the 70''s, but it has not changed since. Seems to cater much more to Asian travellers then rest of the world. Restaurant food was not good (go to the Starbucks next door). No airport shuttle stop - take the shuttle to the Koreanna and cross the street.

Rooms are small. Air conditioning/heating is centralised, which is not a good thing. Location was terrific and assuming you need the hotel simply to sleep and bathe, it was very good value.
