Best Western Glasgow City Hotel
3 out of 5

Warm, clean room, but it was tiny. I had booked a twin but this had a small double bed in the room - 2 sides of which were against walls! Good amenities, including iron/ironing board and hairdryer and nice ensuite. Staff very helpful and friendly. Location ok, but few places to eat nearby - if you know Glasgow and therefore where to head to, then this would be fine.

Top stay. Loved it. Great location, excellent customer service. Free bottles of red and white wine plus water and Pringles in room. Well turned out. Staff very polite and helpful. Free breakfast, even though we booked Room Only (toast, muffins, coffee, orange juice). Only downside was that Wifi wasn't working in room. However, would certainly stay again - superb.

Surprisingly modern rooms in a hotel that looks past its best from outside. The plumbing is absolutely excellent although bathroom size is miniscule. Excellent value and a great short stay.

Hotel was very nice. Only few things I didnt like too much - towels smelled stronly bleach and in the basement, we could smell the smoke from the cigarettes. Otherwise it was very nice experience.

A very pleasant stay in this city centre hotel which is close to all attractions, particularly the King's Theatre. There's no restaurant onsite, but plenty to choose from nearby. Would def stay here again...

Nice hotel near Sauchiehall. No lift, so be prepared for some extra excercise :-) Overall we were satisfied with our stay, but there was a couple of minor issues, like the internet not working (wifi with strong signal, but no internet access!?) for the entire stay. The included breakfast was really at a minimum. However, very nice staff and we would have no problems staying there again!

The service was friendly and welcoming. The size of the room was massive, which was excellent. Our toilet didn't flush very well so we usually used the communal downstairs toilet off the reception hall. The breakfast facilities were below average. We asked 3 times for twin beds, once via email and twice in person. We were told we could have them but it never happened. The instant coffee machine was very good, and the hotel is a very short walk to the bars and restaurants.

It's generous to describe the double room as double! They are single room, with a double bed!

This hotel is amazingly situated. Its next door to the Kings theatre where we went to a show. Lots of nice restaurants close by too. Room was small but very pleasant with nice fittings, comfy bed, nice plasma TV & a clean and bright bathroom. Only comment would be that the radiator is situated in a way that you could burn your leg when using the toilet. The comp pastries and coffee in the breakfast room were cheap & cheerful but went down very well in nice surroundings. I work for a international 5 star hotel chain and have stayed all over the world in various hotels... For the money paid, the service at the Glasgow City Hotel was better than some I have experienced in some of my trips away to other big hotels around the globe. For what it is.. 10 out of 10!
