Best Western Dublin Skylon Hotel

My wife and I have stayed many times in this hotel. We have been generally satisified. This time again with regard to the hotel we were satisfied. However this time the introduction of payment for parking was a disappointment. It was bad enough to have to pay but no preference is given for residents. On the day I arrived there were no spaces and was even told off for attempting to park. Had to park for a day on a nearby road. Would suggest double price for non residents and a smaller amount for residents ( if they have to charge.) Another moneymaking idea?? What about the customer experience.

While it is an old fashioned hotel and a little tired around the edges in some ways it never the less makes up for it in pleasant old fashioned friendliness, helpfulness etc. The location is ideal for airport or town and the area Drumcondra is nice. Food is average. Lots of parking and a cheap an cheerful place to stay. I have been and will be back.

This place is nice enough for the money I paid. I would suggest ringing the hotel to request a twin as you get a bigger refurbished room with a double and single. It is a handy location for beumont hospital. However they do charge €5 for car parking and are supposed to have free internet but it did not work while we were there which was disappointing. The tv was badly positioned and hard to see from the bed also the bathroom was not clean enough along with the carpet. On the plus side the bed was really comfy and I did get a great nights sleep!

We stayed at the Skylon hotel for 2 nights while seeing Westlife at Croke Park, it was a really nice hotel, and within walking distance to Croke Park and a short bus ride to the city centre. We would stay there again.

The room was nice and freshly redecorated. My only complaint was that it was impossible to get a proper hot shower in the morning, despite being up before 7am. It kept running hot and cold leaving me frustrated and grumpy! Location good - handy for town and airport with lots of parking

Bedrooms and bathrooms need modernising. Room walls needed painting as they were dirty. The grout lines in the bathroom were dirty. Just old decor. Other than that it was ok. Have been in better b&b's Food is ok from the bar. Bar has good atmosphere

A really nice hotel. Staff friendly. Good public spaces and bedrooms. Bar was short staffed leading to a long wait to be served on Saturday evening. Shower in room was faulty and could not be used, but staff was very prompt in trying (unsuccessfully) to fix it.

This hotel is undergoing massive renovation and rebuilding and should be avoided if you want to sleep after 7am. The staff were fantastic and very helpful. Rooms clean if a little old fashioned but I would stay there again after the building work is completed.

Went here for St Patricks day and Mothers Day and considering thius hotel was fully booked and bursting at the seams. We could not fault the service in the restuarant or bar or throughout the hotel. No waitinng and very friendly. Rooms where big with a comfy bed, what more can you ask for. Booked for a wake up call at 4.30am and they had prebooked a taxi for us to. Wus defo stay here again fantastic Hotel.

I would definately stay at the Skylon Hotel again, the staff were very helpful and really nice (although I would expect no less in Dublin). My only concern was the work being carried out at the back of the hotel which I never knew anything about, and when I looked out of my window I could only see a building site, which was quite noisy as I tried to sleep!!! But overall the hotel and staff were Top Class.

I took 4 children age range 7 to 18. The staff are so helpfull and where very good to the children. The hotel has a bus stop across from it, where it takes 10 mins and only cost £3.50 for us all to city centre. There is also a large leasure centre for rainy days only 10 mins from the hotel. The hotel is clean great value for money. There is coffee facilities and an iron in the room. The children enjoyed the internet in the reception but they could not get MSN. It is reasonabe to eat in the large bar. We will definetly go back next time we go to Dublin.
