Best Western Braid Hills Hotel Edinburgh
4 out of 5

This is our fifth stay at this hotel. The staff are all so helpful and pleasant. The only downside in this almost perfect hotel is the absence of a lift but we will certainly be back. The hotel has plenty of parking and there is a direct bus into the centre of the city.

The Hotel was excellent and our room was perfect so huge and overlooking a park. Food in both resturant and bistro excellent again. Only downfall was no lift. Would recommend to others and would go again.

Fantastic breakfast with great service. Staff and waiters are very professional. My stay was going very well, until the last night when I saw a brown mouse in my room!! The night staff were unable to catch the mouse, but they did apologise profusely. I was given another, albeit smaller, room for the night.

The Hotels location is about a 10 min drive to the city centre, taxi is approx £10 one way, some really great walks around the hotel which we found to be clean and had all we required, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfast was absolutely great. Overall a nice quiet Hotel that we will be going back to.

This hotel is out of town and very relaxing. We stayed in a range of hotels and B&B around the UK and this was the best overall. Hotel and Pub experience excellent - excellent value for money. Breakfast okay. Service at all other times was fantastic and I as they recommend taking a bus into the city. The room we had gave a beautiful view. I visited with my disabled 79 yr old mother and was extremely happy with the overall experience.

An excellent situation and full of old world charm. Fantastic breakfast and very good, friendly service. Access to Edinburgh City centre is fast, frequent and inexpensive.

Period hotel, ten minutes from the city centre. Numerous bus routes right outside the door. £10 taxi from town centre. Extremely helpful and pleasant staff. No elevator though. The whole hotel was clean and comfortable. Cosy home from home..!

Unremarkable, old fashioned and dowdy. Needs refurbishment. Room quite basic and no view. Very poor access for disabled - no sign of a lift. Over 30 minutes into the city by bus. Not particularly recommended. Staff friendly and helpful.

I am very familiar with this hotel as I grew up in Edinburgh directly across a large park in front of it. It has not changed much in all the years (40+) I have been away!! Very comfortable, with friendly and efficient service -- my latest visit to it fulfilled all expectations!! Wonderful location from which to explore all the benefits Edinburgh has to offer (bus service immediately outside, many places to go walking, etc.). Well worth a try!!

Only problem was the plumbing. It seemed as if there was a diesel lorry starting up in the bedroom. Only after switching off the radiators completely did the noise stop. Bathroom not up to expected standard as bath plastic and flexible.

This is an excellent hotel for quick access to morningside which is a beautiful part of Edinburgh. The breakfast is excellent as are the staff. The dining room is beautiful with lots of windows looking over morningside. The rooms are clean and adequate with tea making facilities and feels quite homely. We had a small room on the top floor but the commanding views over Edinburgh made up for it. This is our second time there and we will be going again.
