"This hotel is out of town and very relaxing. We stayed in a range of hotels and B&B around the UK and this was the best overall. Hotel and Pub experience excellent - excellent value for money. Breakfast okay. Service at all other times was fantastic and I as they recommend taking a bus into the city. The room we had gave a beautiful view. I visited with my disabled 79 yr old mother and was extremely happy with the overall experience."

"Only problem was the plumbing. It seemed as if there was a diesel lorry starting up in the bedroom. Only after switching off the radiators completely did the noise stop. Bathroom not up to expected standard as bath plastic and flexible."

"This is an excellent hotel for quick access to morningside which is a beautiful part of Edinburgh. The breakfast is excellent as are the staff. The dining room is beautiful with lots of windows looking over morningside. The rooms are clean and adequate with tea making facilities and feels quite homely. We had a small room on the top floor but the commanding views over Edinburgh made up for it. This is our second time there and we will be going again."

"well appointed hotel with some nice furnishings and fitments going back to the turn of the last century - good room and good breakfast"
