Best Western Apollo Museumhotel Amsterdam City Centre

The hotel itself is very well situated and within walking distance to many exiting shopping areas and museum district.Beautiful house! The room itself I got with my wife was rather disappointing concerning space, that is, much to small but at the reception you could buy an upgrade for 25 usd or euros per night for more "suitcase space".There was an hair dryer and a safe but no cooler for our preferences.Strange thing to have a light tinted glass door for the bathroom which leads to non privacy.Overall if you are going to stay at this good hotel, consider paying more for more space if needed and check out the bathroom door if privacy is a consideration.

All and all, pretty good. The location _should_ be brilliant, but with the National Musuem being rebuilt (but open), and the Van Gough Museum now ~25min walk away at the Hermitage Amsterdam (till mid 2013) some of the local advantages have been lost. But its still in a good safe part of town, close to food and drinks and the Vondel park for a nice walk. The rooms are quite small (I would have struggled if I hadn't been alone), and the very nice and modern toilet/shower units is pretty small too. Free wireless, breakfast is EUR12.50 and is "OK". I wouldn't rave about this place, but given the range of rubbish hotels in Amsterdam, I would go back.

Way too small rooms, no space to move at all. Too cold, super bad windows the wind came trhought the window. Staff was not kind. I had 300e for my vacation and the hotell wanted 150e as a garantee, they could had informed that beforehand and they didn't even check the room when we signed out! And I think there was some animals on the beds, my skin itched as my friend skin too. The beds was SOOOO SMALL OMG! SUPER SMALL BEDS AND UNCOMFORTABLE! And I felt my staying unwelcome. Wont stay there again!

Very friendly staff and a superb location from all sorts of activities. Beautiful at night! Ver comfortable bed and a very clean but small bathroom. The area is one of my favorites in all of Amsterdam.

Although this was not the highest end hotel I have ever stayed at, the Best Western Apollo Museum Hotel was a quite good, respectable hotel. The staff was great and helpful at whatever asked. The room, though it was small, was clean and comfortable. The hotel was quiet too- which I did not expect, given that it's located on a busy street in the museum district. The hotel is conveniently located close to transportation and the museums (which is why I had originally chosen it) and this proved perfect. The only thing I did not like was the door on the bathroom being made of frosted glass (!!)- the frosted glass door provided NO privacy in that very small room. A bathtub would have been heavenly, rather than just the shower, as well, but I knew ahead that the room had just a shower anyway.

small rooms, but perfect for a short stay. Extremely clean and area is safe. Hotel staff is friendly, breakfast buffet is outrageously priced for just rolls and cereal - would not recommend eating it.

great hotel, extremely small rooms, but clean and livable for a short time. Internet included which is a plus. Breakfast is outrageously priced for just rolls, pastries, and cereal. Staff was friendly. Location was perfect, you can walk everywhere.

The hotel was in a great location, the bathroom was big and spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. One staff person on the evening shift was great, but the rest of the staff was just average and we did not feel that they were overly helpful. I feel the room was overpriced.

I stayed at the Apollo for one night and really enjoyed my stay. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful during check in and check out, and they showed great interest in making sure my stay was pleasant. The room was small but was modern and very clean. Wireless internet was free and fast, and I didn't hear any noise from the street or from the other guest rooms. The location of the hotel is great- very close to several tram stops and buses, a short walk to bars and restaurants, and very safe. The hotel is in the museum district and is a great choice if you are looking to stay close to tourist attractions. I would absolutely stay here again when I visit Amsterdam again.

Room was tiny but have to say clean as was the ensuite. The walls were a bit grubby also. The room rate was expensive for the quality of the hotel itself as breakfast was an extra. Location was in Museum Quarter and a tram ride from the Dam Square and Central Station. (Don't take taxis as they will rob you like they did to us from Central Station to Hotel 5min- €20) Staff were nice and friendly. Didn't realise at checkout that there was a tourist tax to be paid! This should be included in the rate (No hidden costs are preferred) Overall,
