Berjaya Makati Hotel
4 out of 5

Nice business hotel, staff very courteous, and very attentive and responsive to needs. Very good food at the restaurants they also have live music every nite with different bands. There were a couple of small things and the manager gave immediate attention to them. I would go there again, specially since I have a way to create an asset out of every expense I make, even hotel stays!

I was a little skeptical at first on choosing a hotel for my visit to the Philippines to visit my girlfriend and decided to look around at some reviews before I choose this hotel . I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The room was ready when I got there , It was clean and quiet and the staff were very friendly and customer focused . I felt at home there and would definitely stay there again or recommend it to anyone . The free wifi in the room can be spotty in some parts of the room but was good enough to send emails and surf the net . Outside the hotel you can find many places to eat , overall satisfied with the hotel .

Not the greatest neighbourhood, a bit seedy, but not far from Glorietta and Greenbelt. Professionally run Hotel that seems to be properly rated in stars for its condition. I would certainly stay again if the need arises. Breakfast food selection is OK - but not always hot. In-room internet is very slow and VPN connections are impossible. Wireless works in the lobby, but VPN connections are still impossible. Fortunately I was able to use an open (no password required) neighbour's wireless to connect via VPN - but that luck could not be relied upon. Rooms are good, clean, well serviced, good staff, friendly and helpful etc.

Staff are friendly.. Good location, near restaurants. The rooms are ok but the wi-fi signal could not reach the rooms. The television is not clear.

It was a good hotel for the price. The location is good as it is right in the heart of makati city, which is the business capital of manila. Is close to shopping malls like greenbelt and glorietta. The hotel had an indoor swimming pool but the jacuzzi was not working. The room was decent size and clean. Staff was quite helpful. Close to the airport. Overall i would say that my stay at astor hotel was a good experience.

The lass at reception was very officious and inflexible and was not in the least bit corteous. Very disappointed with what was otherwise a great stay in a good hotel.

I had a free upgrade on check in, so front desk service was good. The free buffet breakfast is good quality (for Manila). The room was very large, but on one day of my stay the cleaner failed to visit and make the bed. My TV remote buttons didn't work properly. But other than these quibbles, I had a comfortable stay.

It's fine for the price, it's cheap so don't expect bells and whistles.

Clean and nice. Big rooms, with good furnishing. The location's not for everyone (it's right up against the red-light-district), but there's plenty of nightlife and food around, and taxis are easy to get hold of.

The [website] was showing this hotel as best buy and showed it as 4 star. At 90usd per night i thought that might be good value. Dont know if i trust [website']s ratings because this was at best a 3 star and at 90usd very bad price. I noticed a few days later the price on the website was down to 60usd. Apart from the fact that it is a very tired old hotel - my shower was luke warm. So i ring up housekeeping. They send up the maintenance man - he tries the water and says it is hot enough. I argue with him it is not so he tells me change rooms. Reception rings me and tells me no rooms left to change they will send the maintenance man back. Of course he did not turn up. Stay away from this hotel - better value elsewhere.

Nice hotel for the area, but shouldn't be listed as a Manila hotel. It's actually located in Makati, about halfway between the realyy nice areas, and the "Red Light District". Hotel entrance location keeps the "riff-raff" away though, so It's a good option. Much better than some of the other hotels in the area at only a little higher cost.

I stayed in this hotel twice once in the standard (unrenovated room) and once in the delux. Standard room is not good value and a bit of a dive but the delux room was of a good standard. As withh the philipines the staff were freindly but the hotel is a bit tired.
