Bella Vista House Hotel Cobh
4.8 out of 5

What a great experience! Renovations of the hotel were just being completed in April and these will make it even better. Fabulous views across the harbour, surprisingly good food, lovely spacious and clean rooms, free off-street parking + free 24/7 access to internet on a separate computer for guests. Best part was Irish owner and host, Kevin - a larger-than-life character. All up, a great find that I heartily recommend to you.

Room was very nice on top floor. Excellent views. Very friendly staff. Unfortunately there was a problem with the hot water, so had to heat water for the bath using electric kettle! However, staff apologised and gave us a free packed lunch to go on our way, as a bit of compensation.

What a surprise! We booked this hotel simply as an overnight stay in the vicinity of Cork where we had a business meeting the next day. We had no idea of the wealth of history surrounding Cobh or indeed, this hotel until we arrived. I will not spoil it for anyone else by revealing all, but suffice to say we were amazed. The hotel itself is family run and under fairly recent new management. The room we had was surprisingly spacious and comfortable with antique furniture and stripped floorboards. The bed was confortable, the en-suite bathroom more than adequate and a good choice of fare at breakfast. Friendly and obliging staff, and a Chinese restaurant within the hotel - and although we didn't try it, it was very busy. All in all, if you are in the area, you could do a lot worse than this hotel, and the village of Cobh is amazing with its spectacular cathedral and views over the harbour. Highly recommended!

myself and my husband stayed for two nights and were extremely pleased with the service and the beautiful room we were given .the views of the harbour from the room and dinning room were breathtaking. the area was very quiet, but the people very friendly.the hotel is at the top of the hill though so you need to enjot walking up steep inclines to stay here.lots of interesting history to find out about in cobh too. we hope to go back as soon as circumstances permit.
