booked 2 bedroom apartment only had facilities for people not 4 asked for extra cups etc and they wanted to charge us a fee - couldn't get etra pillows - service was very slow had to keep ringing the reception desk and it took 2 days for them to bring us cups

Belgravia has very nice facilities- clean and beautifully appointed, comparable to an international 4-star hotel. The beds though are firm. Note most Chinese hotels we stayed in during this trip had extremely firm beds--not too comfortable, and towels were graying & frayed. Belgravia was quite nice. As a serviced apartment though, it did not have the standard "equipment" offered by serviced residences we used in Italy--plates & dinnerware good only for 2 people although we booked 2 duplex units for 4 each. We would be charged extra for more plates & utensils. Good location near new modern office & residential buildings. 5 minutes walk to the subway station which can take you anywhere in the city and took us to the Shanghai expo very quickly. The nearest convenience store had very limited choices for foreigners. A more complete store is about 15 minutes' walk. Over-all, we recommend the Belgravia and were pleased with the helpful reception desk which had an English speaking person.
