The best time to visit is May through September, when the temperatures are mild and perfect for sightseeing; however, even in summer the weather can often be cool and wet.

The nearest international airport is in Brussels. From Brussels, you can take the train from three different train stations (Central, North or Midi). The “W” bus goes to the battlefield from the Waterloo train station or the centre of town.
The best way to get around the area, see the historical attractions and take a side trip into Brussels is by train or by car.
