Beech Hill Hotel Windermere

Under rated and way exceeded our expectations. Dinner is worth the price. Position for the lake is unbeatable.

The room was tired and needs to be given a facelift. However the location, staff friendliness and restaurant standard more than made up for this. I would stay there again.

Although our stay was comfortable enough I don't think our room was anything special and I had paid for an upgrade. We were on the very lower ground floor and there was a distinct smell of damp when in the coridoor. The lounger area however was lovely with the view over the lake which was very relaxing. Overall we were satisfied but not ecstatic with our choice of hotel and if we were to visit the area again would choose to stay in Bowness itself as the hotel was slightly too far out for us.

our rooms were distinctly in need of refurbishment-threadbare carpets in rooms and on stairways!Bathroom "old". Bedroom doors difficult to shut.Lounge very comfortable. Food excellent.Staff excellent.

Maitre D was very rude and obnoxious! he commented in a very loud voice in front of other guests that our group was on the budget B&B Weekend. Other guests also commented on his rudeness. Resturant prices too expensive and not very much choice! Corn fed chicken was not corn fed and wouldnt have passed standards in KFC. Service was very poor waited over 1 hour for meals then didnt come as stated on the menu. Leisure facilities were very poor, swimming pool was freezing cold, no sauna as stated on the brochure. No proper changing facilities. Would not recomend this hotel!!!

Everything about the hotel was very good, although the bathroom needs a little updating. But I will definitely be going again based on all aspects of the hotel, particularly the value for the quality - especially in the restaurant.

The hotel's restaurant is fantastic and their gormet menu is well worth the price, which is very reasonable anyway.

Lovely hotel, the restaurant served fantastic food in a really laid-back atmosphere. Swimming pool was a great facility and the location was ideal. The room itself was ok, a bit tired looking in places with lots of doors that didn't fit but in a way it all added to the charm of the place!
