Former headquarter of the Syrian secret service and the place that many political activist disappeared there gives you this unique chance to experience horror, lack of hygiene, cold condition and anything you need for having super special time. Dirty, unordered and abandoned hotel is a perfect place for you to try and for one time realise that all of these reviews are correct. At the end, if you are not interested in suffering and making pain for yourself NEVER GO TO THIS HOTEL. NEVER.

Extremely basic hotel, only stay there if you can't afford any better!

First of all, the staff would not let us in until we paid an additional $25 / night because we had two people in a single room. The whole building is dirty and run down. The location is decent, about a 10 minute walk to Roucheh and the Beirut beach, but there is nothing at all immediately near the hotel itself. We reserved two single rooms. We were forced to get a double room because we had 3 people. Well the single room was average. However, the double room was completely disgusting. The sheets were dirty, the bathtub does not drain properly, the bathroom ceiling leaks water. We requested a different room but we were told that those two were the only rooms with hot water. Overall the staff were nice, but unfortunately they were not able to solve most of our problems. My advice: Spend the extra $20 / night on another hotel and you will not regret it.

The hotel needs rehabilitation; carpits are very old and dirty, walls and ceiling have dirty look and the wall paper is falling down and has cracks, baths and toilets are dirty, showers are broken, towels are dirty, the sheets are dirty, insects in the room and in the beds. This hotel is not 4 stars hotel. I met some residents in the hotel and their impression was also very negative. I told the reception about all defficiencies and the guy agreed.
