Overall, it was ok. Not the nicest place I have ever stayed; not the worst. The rooms were dated -- think 70s. The rooms were clean-ish, but not sparkling. The furniture was uncomfortable, though the bed was decent. Location was excellent - short walk to the beach. If I paid more, I would have been disappointed. But it was inexpensive, so I could deal with the "meh"-ness of it all.

I found this hotel when all other familiar names were totally booked due to the very last space shuttle launch. While the availability and rate were good, the "rules" that I was provided AFTER I had provided my CC info were harsh. This was disclosed after I booked: "Cancellations or changes made between 180 to 7 days prior to 12:01 AM local hotel time on the day of arrival are subject to a $59.65 charge. Cancellations or changes made within 7 days prior to 12:01 AM local hotel time on the day of arrival are subject to a $139.55 charge. Cancellations or changes made after 12:01 AM local hotel time on the day of arrival are subject to a 100% charge." Since launch plans are somewhat fluid, this left me with only costly options if I needed to change rooms. Upon requesting an early check-in (3 hours, normally no big deal at the name brands), the desk clerk told me they were still cleaning (fair enough) and 2:00 looked good. When I returned shortly after 2, he back-pedaled, stating that check-in was at 4.Another disappointment was the parking policy -- space is tight and it appears they strictly enforce towing on anybody who doesn't have a parking pass. They would not provide my husband with a pass, stating "only one per visitor." He was welcome to park in visitor parking (all full at the time) or they suggested he go several blocks down the street. I kid you not. I still do not see where this was disclosed before I booked. However, despite the hassles booking and checking in, the rooms themselves are good value. Despite the somewhat dated decor, rooms were clean and spacious. Our 2 BR suite was more than ample, which underscores our surprise at the one-car parking minimum. The beach is a long walk, but the grounds are lush and marked with the species of plants. We MAY stay here again upon a future stay, but we'll first investigate the more customer-friendly booking and check-in practices of the large chains which are all around this property.

We never ever expected the type of motel this was... especially at this price of $347.75 per night. NEVER!!! IT HAD TO BE AT LEAST 50 YEARS OLD. The style was "old and used, used, used stuff in the rooms. Just awful. We have stayed at the Sheridan Hotel in Orlando for $99.00 per night with the same amount of room but with 2 TVs and wonderful new furniture etc. That would have been worth what we paid for this place. No, we would never go there again.

We arrived in mid-afternoon, checked in at check-in time - theirs is 4 PM. We were a bit early so had a nice meal at a pork barbeque place about a quarter mile further down the road. There are a number of eateries nearby, from major chain fast food to good southern style food to Italian. The suite featured living/dining room, two bedrooms, kitchen and bath, with plenty of closet space. It was very clean. After checking in, we walked to the nearby beach and enjoyed an evening dip. The place is very family friendly - lots of people with kids out walking in the evening - there's a mature plantlife area with all manner of trees and flowers near a pool. We only stayed one evening, but found it very good value for the money, and plan to return. The staff was welcoming and friendly at our check-in and check-out, but we had little interaction with them otherwise.
