Location
Nestled on the shores of Lake Budgewoi, Beachcomber Hotel is only 15 minutes off the F3 Freeway and only a short drive from tourist attractions such as Norah Head Lighthouse, Soldier's Beach, Munmorah State Recreation Area, three great golf courses, numerous bowling clubs and the water wonderland of Lake Macquarie.

I like the idea of breaking the trip back to Sydney. The beachcomber has everthing good food cold beer and great views. Cant be beaten on price.

The room itself was clean and comfortable, bathroom was fair and rather cluttered and plumbing is noisy. The appearance of the halls and access leaves you wondering just how good it will be but these concerns were ill founded. Hotel is reasonable value for money.

value for money. Great location. Rooms could use some maintenance. We will stay there everytime we visit the coast.

The overall complex is tired and in need of refurbishment. The room was large with a lovely view over the Lake. Make sure you do not get a room fronting the main road! Bed was comfortable. Facilities were basic but adequate. Our room was next door to a function room which had loud, live music until 11.00pm (we were not warned of this). The rest of the night was peaceful and we had a good nights rest. The "included continental breakfast" was not provided (we didn't chase it). In spite of all this, I would rate the room as value for money. just don't expect a 5 star resort.

I would not recommend this hotel at all, quite the opposite actually. It is old, dirty and run down. We checked out as soon as we checked in. It is a shame considering its location.
