Bayview Eden Melbourne
4 out of 5

We had a great 2 night stay at Bayview Eden on the Park. We enjoyed the large pool and the staff were very friendly. The gym however was very disappointing with old unworkable equipment. The treadmill was broken, the stepper machine was rusted and the weight bench seat was ripped and falling apart. The spa was also not working, the bubble function was broken.

Perfect location for inner city but not to close and great for maintaining your exercise with the gym and the lake right there.

The Bayview Hotel Melbourne was magnificent. The photo's do not do justice to the beautiful interior décor. The large stain glass panel behind the front desk was magnificent. The staff were wonderful and did what they could for us. They found a room for my scooter so as to be put on charge after my days out. The indoor swimming pool was excellent and at a good heat for all your aches and pains. Although there was a bath in our room. The food was excellent. We were not aware of the cost of food in Melbourne but when we ventured out that first night to find a place to have tea we found out later the Hotel offered the same food at a excellent quality and price The best was the Room Service. You could get food till 5am and then get breakfast so Room Service 24hrs a day at a very respectable price. We had a Deluxe Standard 2 Bed Bedroom (1 Queen & 1 Single# for 3 Adults and it was very spacious. The TV was a bit blurry but we could have had it changed but we did not realize most of the things they could have done for us if we had asked but we were too busy to worry. We always had our rooms serviced no mater what time we left even after lunch as 12noon was check out time anyway. We often sat at the bar of the Hotel with my mum and just sat back and had a lovely drink and a chat with staff or other Guests. We sometimes had a bar meal with our drink and it was so relaxing. We did not get enough time to go every to see what the Hotel offers but while we were having a quiet drink there was a couple we were speaking to that come back to the Hotel every year for the last eighteen years so that gives you a idea of not only how friendly the place is and also the quality of facilities but also your moneys worth. They were saying that it is like a extended family here and that every year at the Christmas Dinner the Hotel offers they get to catch up with other couples that also come back there every year also. #120 guests at least#. The Hotel also offers good deals to returning guests as we found out. just to rap up we would definitely go back there but next time for a Holiday. The cost for us to stay there was especially great giving us a 5 star experience and of course being so close to the city and other services. The area is very scenic especially because the Hotel is directly across the road from the beautiful Park. One thing to definitely consider is if you have a car #only a minimum extra night charge# to please re-consider taking it as parking in the city area is not only costly but almost impossible. On weekends the lifts in some parking places we found did not work causing us to crawl up their steep ramps as only steps to the surface. #I am disabled# So Consider either taking the Tram which is only behind the Hotel on St Kilda Rd. The Hotel offer a Special Car Service. #small charge extra than a taxi,) but even the taxi's are cheaper as you are so close to every thing even the railway station. Check City Map. Thanks to all and Happy 2013 and I hope you too enjoy the Hotel and Friendly staff. .Barb

This hotel offers excellent, comfortable rooms for what I regard as bargain basement prices. It is easily accessible by car incl. parking and is rather quiet, even though there are busy roads tight outside. I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel even at prices slightly above $100 for the night.

I could not have asked for a better hotel. For value, location, the friendliest staff I have experienced, all making you feel like family. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them, always with a smile. Housekeeping, room service, and in particular front office staff. They really made my stay enjoyable to the point i extended my booking to 5 nights, though I had the option of staying with friends. I got the peace and quiet and accommodating service I was after. Meals were enjoyable and delivered promptly. Rooms cleaned spotless. I cannot commend this hotel enough. I will return, and recommend to others. Special thanks to Russell, Ben, Melissa, Kylie, Kim, Meena, Vince, and everyone else I came in contact with. Definitely good value for money. Aside from a Southbank hotel, the views are the most fantastic in Melbourne. Albert Park lake and across the bay. You can workout, have a spa and sauna from the rooftop with those stunning views, and rooftop decking. I couldn't imagine anyone would be disappointed with their stay here. In addition, the soundproofing is A1, plus you rarely see people in the corridor. It's like you have the hotel to yourself.

I have stayed at the Eden on a few occasions now and it has become my preferred hotel in Melbourne. It has everything you need - everything works - great views over the Park and great walks - short flat walk to abundant trams into the CBD and beyond. Competant and efficient front counter staff and friendly cleaning staff, convenient location and modest tariff - all gets a tick

I needed an overnight stay close to the city after attending a concert in Hamer Hall. I did not bring my car, instead using train and tram, which proved very convenient as the hotel was less than a 5-minute walk to St Kilda Road trams. The room was large, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom had a bath as well as a great shower. Despite being located on the very busy Queens Road, there was no traffic noise and I had a very peaceful and comfortable night. The cost was reasonable when I used member points. I would certainly stay here again.

We have stayed at this hotel a number of times. The rooms are big and clean, I asked and got a room with new beds (tip), the last time we had a room with older beds, these were not very comfortable. Location of the hotel is very good, close to public transport to the city,St.Kilda,Chapel street. Not mant resaurants in the area, we always eat at the Olive Tree in Park Street,(7 minute walk) 1 of the best resaurants in melbourne, it's been there for 40 years. The only thing that I do not like is that now you have to pay $10,-- to park. I would stay at this hotel again.

It promotes itself as an elegent smaller size hotel and it delivers. All the usual features provided without fanfare but gives one a great experience. Nice lounge - good restaurant - quick and efficient front counter service - and no waiting for the lift. Twoblock walk to very frequent trams on St Kilda Road so everything Melbourne has to offer is close at hand. Opposite Albert Park Lake so great views to the coast and easy lovely walkon your doorstep

We had 3 nights at this hotel. It was in a nice spot. Easy walk to supermarket and a few food places. Easy to get to a tram stop. The room was a little outdated but was clean. No sink was difficult for this length of stay. Room service was excellent. We were able to get a late check out which was a great help. Staff were friendly and helpful.
