Bay Haven Lodge Byron Bay Guest Reviews (2)
Unfriendly, no one to meet you just a call on the mobile to say ... "The keys are in the door" Tiny room, no chair to sit, when you are in the shower that barely fits one person the man in the house next door gets a birds eye view of everything. When you sit on the bed it moves. Bed linen appeared as if it was taken from Vinnies in the morning and thrown over the uncomfortable bed. Filthy pillows. Worse night sleep I have had in my life. Couldn't wait to get out of the place.Toilet: appalling, again the man next door can see you. No hanging space, no hangers: A small cell like room that reminded me of a youth hostel I stayed in 35 years ago when I was 20 years of age. Park your car on the street. I would have paid $40 for the experience. Not$240 for the night. A serious joke. Would prefer to sleep in the car than experience that again. Absolutely disgusting.

After making the booking, I was told of a bad experience a work colleague had with Bay Haven in the past. We went ahead with the booking anyway, figuring that what is bad to some people is nothing to others. We found the rooms to be incredibly small - certainly, we would not want to have stayed there longer than 2 nights; and because of the nature of the cottage, you could hear everything happening in the other rooms (not always comfortable listening). The bed broke while we were there and the owner "fixed" it while we were out. It had obviously been broken before and he had "fixed" it previously, but not very well. It broke again the next day. Overall, we will not be returning to Bay Haven and will not be recommending it to others.
