Location
Basilea Hotel, housed in a converted ex-convent built by Augustinian friars in the 1300's, is situated in Florence's historic San Lorenzo district, just a stone's throw from the famous San Lorenzo Market and within walking distance of such major attractions as the Accademia Museum, which houses Michelangelo's famous David statue, the Medici Chapel, the Duomo and the San Marco Museum.

Pretty old furniture. Breacfest is verry poor in variaty and quantity. You have expresly to ask for simple thinks like milk & bread. The biggest plus is the location.

The hotel was not as nice as we thought. The room was small but even though it's in the middle of town, it was very quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was great. The building and rooms, not impressive. Difficult to find as the street appears to be a large, main road but is just a one-way street. Great location.

Although the family room booked was not available the staff were very helpful in accommodating us in a double and single rooms. The staff were most helpful and the central location for the train and bus stations was very useful. Range of local restaurants was excellent and the market is well worth a look. Single rooms are very small and the decor quite dated but this is to be expected in Italian 3 stars. Breakfast was a good range of continental breakfast (especially the quality of the coffee!!).

Hotel was very central, within walking distance of the train station. The staff where very friendly and helpful.
