Bardola Hoyfjellshotell Geilo Guest Reviews
Warm homely hotel with good public facilities (bar/pool etc), but bedrooms small with view of back of another building and a car park! Bathrooms tiny and needed updating. Lots of staff - all v pleasant, but answered only direct questions, did not offer other ideas/solutions which led to frustrating conversations! Got no feeling of being a recognised valued guest when coming back to the hotel, at reception, or in restaurant! eg, most guests had a table allocated to them at breakfast and din.er - we did not for some reason!! Hotel located > a mile from the village, insufficient ski or other buses and none at all in the late afternoon/evening. Food and beverage v expensive to the british guest - partly exchange rate related. Catering largely to conference trade. Teenagers in party of 4 not catered for at all in terms of ent/activities in evening, but an issue for the resort, not just the hotel. All in all, pleasant, but could have been so much nicer with a bit more effort.

The staff was very accomandating and friendly. Staying here costs the same as staying at s SAS Radisson hotel and you get the standards are quite the same. Personally I wanted a unisex sauna as I was travelling with my girlfriend, but most people might bem more than happy with it being men/women only. A litte nice arcade and the snazzy drinks in the bar makes the time before dinner starts go quickly. Dinner is expensive enough and with a set meny you might want to eat out, but the food was excellent. Breakfast was also great. There's something for everyone, including waffles to make yourself, and the hotel can boast of bacon that is not 80% fat.
