This was our first trip to an all-inclusive resort, we couldn't have expected how great it was. Truly, from the food, to the accommodations, to the entertainment and activities everything was amazing.

The service is good and the room is big and clean. The swiming pool is nice. But the beach is not good.

Had a wonderful 5 day all-inclusive stay at the Barcelo with my family! The rooms were super comfortable. I dont think an upgrade to Barcelo Premium is really necessary. The normal rooms were quite spacious and comfortable themselves and had a fairly decent ocean view. The resort provided some decent organic entertainment as well. The food (free) was good for the most part. The pools (4 of them) were immaculate. The few things that they can improve upon: - Provide wifi for free for all customers and not just the premium ones instead of charging ~$15 per day. Internet is a commodity now and not a specialty. - Increase vegetarian options in their buffet menu. And serve the Pizzas hotter. It felt as if we were eating the same food everyday :) - Italian Capri restaurant was pretty good but Don Quixote(Mexican) was only so-so.

The Premium club staff is excellent. I requested different a pillow to sleep on and housekeeping never followed up in bringing me a more firm pillow. The Italian and Sapanish restaurants have better that average food compared to the other restaurants in the hotel, I forgot my Ipod in the room and I am currently working with the concierge to see if they found it and if they could send it to me. The beach front vendors are very annoying and can't be controlled by the hotel security.

Booked upgrade to Jr suite. Upon our arrival we had been upgraded to the Master suite....It was to die for. Pools were heated and felt wonder, the landscaping was beautiful, the ocean was inviting and maid service was excellent. Here area few areas that could be improved. Refrigerators in rooms need to be replaced. The bartenders made drinks so strong that the taste was not good. The entertainment was not worth staying up to watch. The food was usually cold at buffet and specialty restaurants. Most entrees lacked flavor. Unable to enjoy the beach due to the persistent vendors. Beach was quite small which made it hard to escape the vendors. Planning our next trip to Mexico we will not return to this resort.
