Great place.. Didn't provide washcloths during my stay. Had issues getting into my room, but the staff was very prompt with assisting me. The food was wonderful wide variety. Location excellent. Beach very nice vendor can be annoying at times. Overall loved my time there. Definately would go back.

First night we have to change rooms 5 times , because of the condition of the rooms(humidity smell ,fungus on the walls, light fixture broken , etc.) No towel on the rooms during the day , they take them in the morning to wash and return them in the evening (sometimes). No bottle water in the restaurants , you have to go to the front desk to get them. No towel available for the beach , had to wait 2 hours to get them.. Hotel Need to close down for remodeling.

Let me start off first by saying that if you are looking for exceptional service, top notch facilities and incredible food, you'd be wise to spend a few extra hundred and stay elsewhere. With that being said, I chose this resort because it was inexpensive and close enough to two major southern cities (Santo Domingo and San Pedro de Macoris) to do a little sight-seeing. I wasn't expecting a 4-star hotel. What we learned from a local is that during the low season (May-December), locals are given a special low rate to enable them to take advantage of this relaxing beachfront property. Most of the locals stay for the weekend. It was during the weekend that we noticed somewhat poor service. During the week when the resort was occupied mostly with tourist, service was way better and the workers appeared to be a bit more pleasant. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. I read previous reviews regarding long waits but we didn't experience anything like that. Our room initially had a moldy smell. The bathroom could have benefited from a spray down of bleach. Air conditioner worked fine and the room was always comfortable. Turn down services was on point and they always provided fresh towels. Beach towels were available at two beach locations via the card system. The resort itself could use some renovating. It's not at the point of dilapidation, but it could use some TLC. I read a review complaining about the beach being dirty and strewn with seaweed. C'mon, seriously? I thought the beach was nice. You'll need water shoes as this is not a natural beach. There are rocks and coral in the water. It makes for some nice snorkeling. You can get a pair of water shoes for about $7.00 U.S. at the resort gift shop. Our biggest pet-peeve regarding the beach was the vendors. I totally understand that this is a very poor country and people need to make a living, but the constant soliciting of vendors can sometimes become unnerving. Some of them can become very insistent. One guy insisted that I try an oyster. Then he started shucking more and cutting up some squid and we went from a sample to him trying to charge me $36.00 for 1/2 dozen oysters and a small octopus salad that I didn't even ask for. I gave him $20 and asked him in a nice way to take a hike. The buffet food was, "o.k.", nothing to write home about. Breakfast was pretty much the same everyday. My only complaint is that there was no salami and fried cheese to go with my Mangu ; ) There was a different theme every night, but for the exception of one or two dishes, I couldn't tell the difference. We did make reservations once for "Las Olas Grill". The food was pretty decent. I had a huge grilled lobster and my girlfriend had the T-Bone steak. The whole meal set us back $28.00. Not bad considering the same meal here in NY would have ran us at least $70. There was entertainment throughout the day, although we chose not to do anything but lay on the beach for most of our time there. The evening entertainment was o.k., with the exception of an onstage production of Avatar one night that totally made us want to hurl. The hotel offers wi-fi service for $10 a day. Not the fastest internet service, but at least we were able to get online, even on the beach!. They "Fitness Center" is nothing more than a room with a couple of dumbbells, two benches, and a dated treadmill and elliptical machine that doesn't work. I managed to do some bench presses, and bicep work one day, but I was limited. So basically, there is no fitness center lol. There's a pharmacy, liquor store and grocery/gift shop all right across the street from the property. The bottom line...we wanted an all-inclusive to basically relax for a week on a shoestring and that's what we got. Again, I wasn't disappointed because I really had no unrealistic expectations. We ate, drank, soaked up the sun, caught up on some reading, swam and caught some Zzzz's. It wasn't a week at the Paradisus Punta Cana, but it wasn't the Hotel Rwanda eithe
