Bally's Studio Suites Bangkok Guest Reviews
I never believed when someone told me you can't believe the smiles of Thais, in this hotel I was taught what it means... After 1 week in there I was well known by the staff, joking around with the guards and the reception girls. Cool! As I checked out I gave everyone a tip of 100 THB which is a good part of their daily income I guess. But then I needed their help. In this area you can't find taxis so easily, every taxi driver refused to take me to Bangkapi, a suburb of BKK where I wanted to visit a friend and spend my last night there before leaving Thailand. I knew I had to go to the main street (Sukhumvit) wich is a quite long walk as Bally Hotel is at the end of the side street (Soi 20). I asked the reception girl and the guard (the ones who I gave the tip just minutes before) if someone could take me to the Main Road by the Hotel owned Tuk Tuk which was standing next to me. The guard replied "The Tuk Tuk can only be used before 5pm". It was 5:45pm...(late checkout) I couldn't believe it! All staff 2 guards, technical guys...etc. had nothing to do but weren't able to take that 5min drive to the Main Road. So I carried my 25kg suitcase and stuff to the Main road alone which was really not so easy. There the first taxi driver I sopped was willing to take me where I wanted to go. No problem. So if you plan to spend time in Bally and the staff is friendly.. remember it doesn't mean anything!

Comfortable, well run with helpful, efficient and courteous staff. Breakfast fresh and with plenty of variety.

The staff were very helpful and professional. The free tutk tuk to the local area was also an unexpected bonus. My only negative was that the breakfast (which was included in the cost of the room) was below average (the eggs and bacon were cold on the first morning, there was no bacon on the second or the third day, there were flies on the fruit, etc. The fruit should have been covered to prevent this. And as the restaurant was not that busy, the food could have been cooked to order rather than being allowed to grow cold. We also ate in the hotel twice in the evening and the food was excellent. The restaurant was poorly patronised at night - both times we were the only people eating there and I am sure this had a lot to do with the quality of the breakfasts. If had experienced one of the breakfasts as my first meal there, I would not have spent money there in the evenings.

Fairly decent choice for low budget accomodation in Bangkok. Not at all a short walking distance to the BTS as advertised (rather felt like a good kilometer at least).
