This hotel is good value. The shower is average as it is only lukewarm and leaks all over the floor. The rooms are dated. But the hotel is very reasonably priced

very nice hotel with wonderful staff ( special mention for female receptionist on check in ) excellent value for money, only downside the hotel is a little far away from Sukhumvit road and the TUK TUK service is not really up to scratch as the driver doesn't seem to want to move very often but easy 40 thb taxi to the end of the street

very helpful staff, room very clean. The bathroom could do with some attention (tap not working properly, shower water running between wall and bath tub), good location

I never believed when someone told me you can't believe the smiles of Thais, in this hotel I was taught what it means... After 1 week in there I was well known by the staff, joking around with the guards and the reception girls. Cool! As I checked out I gave everyone a tip of 100 THB which is a good part of their daily income I guess. But then I needed their help. In this area you can't find taxis so easily, every taxi driver refused to take me to Bangkapi, a suburb of BKK where I wanted to visit a friend and spend my last night there before leaving Thailand. I knew I had to go to the main street (Sukhumvit) wich is a quite long walk as Bally Hotel is at the end of the side street (Soi 20). I asked the reception girl and the guard (the ones who I gave the tip just minutes before) if someone could take me to the Main Road by the Hotel owned Tuk Tuk which was standing next to me. The guard replied "The Tuk Tuk can only be used before 5pm". It was 5:45pm...(late checkout) I couldn't believe it! All staff 2 guards, technical guys...etc. had nothing to do but weren't able to take that 5min drive to the Main Road. So I carried my 25kg suitcase and stuff to the Main road alone which was really not so easy. There the first taxi driver I sopped was willing to take me where I wanted to go. No problem. So if you plan to spend time in Bally and the staff is friendly.. remember it doesn't mean anything!

The staff were very helpful and professional. The free tutk tuk to the local area was also an unexpected bonus. My only negative was that the breakfast (which was included in the cost of the room) was below average (the eggs and bacon were cold on the first morning, there was no bacon on the second or the third day, there were flies on the fruit, etc. The fruit should have been covered to prevent this. And as the restaurant was not that busy, the food could have been cooked to order rather than being allowed to grow cold. We also ate in the hotel twice in the evening and the food was excellent. The restaurant was poorly patronised at night - both times we were the only people eating there and I am sure this had a lot to do with the quality of the breakfasts. If had experienced one of the breakfasts as my first meal there, I would not have spent money there in the evenings.

Fairly decent choice for low budget accomodation in Bangkok. Not at all a short walking distance to the BTS as advertised (rather felt like a good kilometer at least).

I've stayed here 4 times over the last 12 months. It's a long way from the main drag (half a klm) which suits me as I really live a quite location. The rooms a larger than average and no longer brand new. I've always found the staff very helpful and welcoming. One of the many things I like about this hotel is that every room has a DVD player and large TV...they lend free DVD's at the front desk 24/7. 2...They always give much more than the minumum of Drinking water, coffee. tea suger, toilet paper, towels, tissues, soap, shampoo, etc...I've never run out of this stuff like I do at most hotels. 3...free high speed internet near the cafe (which saves me several dollars a day) I will be staying here again next time I come to Bangkok.

I was surprised very much that there were many mosquito in the room. In addition, it seemed that the room did not make clean up for long time.

The location of this hotel is a big minus. The neighborhood is nice, but it's a 20 minute walk from the BTS Skytrain, and the underground stations. It's a good hotel if you only take taxis everywhere, as they are constantly passing by the hotel. They have a tuk tuk vehicle that will take you to the BTS station, but it's not always readily available, and only runs until 5pm. The room was nice, and quiet for the most part. Service was good, but staff not nearly as enthusiastic as other hotels I've stayed at in Thailand. Free internet terminal in the lobby for guests.
