BSA Mansion Condotel Makati
3.8 out of 5

The studio condo that MGT had reserved for me was not comfortable. It was on the 2nd floor, had an air conditioner right next to the bed that was making loud, strange noises and the phone line into the phone was not removable for dial-up internet connection (no broadband available). The front desk person-on-duty insisted she had no other condos available but after some back and forth said that there was a 1bdr condo on the 5th floor available. After transferring there all was copasetic.

The service was excellent! I was impressed by the positive attitude of all the staff - reception- security - cleaning. While the facilities are not new, every effort appears to be made to maintain a high standard of cleanliness.

The service (from reception to room) was excellent. The room (superior) was appropriately furnished. Some of the cabinet doors though are loose and ready to fall. The staff were very courteous and responsive and really goes out of their way to satisfy customer requests. The place is ideally located in the heart of Makati (walking distance to greenbelt where good dining abounds). A really value for the money. I would highly recommend this condotel to any traveler to the Philippines on business, pleasure or both. Suitable for families too.

The hotel was excellent value for money and well located. Of course the staff were superb. The only comment/complaint is the small capacity of the water boiler for the shower as you can only have a quick shower for one person. I would definitely stay there again.

Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and believe that was enough. The Hotel was tidy and staff were friendly, but location is everything and no matter what taxi we took, they couldn''t find the hotel. We needed to get a calling card so that the taxi drivers knew where it was located. As for getting a taxi you have to walk for 5min to get to a street that taxis tend to be near. The facilities in the room were adequate but we found no use for the cooking facilities, we opted to eat out everyday. I wouldn''t really recommend the hotel as there are other hotels at the same price or less which are much better.

I was pleasantly surprised about the accommodation. I did, however, find it difficult to find the place. There are no signs out front to indicate the establishment. It took me and the cab driver about 30 minutes to locate it. A map or better description would be a good idea. There is not even a street number. We finally found the place by calling it. BUT, I will return there again as I visit Manila often. The ONLY other negative is there was no frying pan available in the kitchen...rather minor in the grand scheme of things. I was quite happy staying there.

Room was clean and comfortable. The room had cooking facilities but could have equipped better. The breakfast served on time in the room was good. The Far Eastern Economic Review magazine was supplied free of cost to all residents. The Hotel is an easy walk to Makati Commercial Centre and also to the Union Church of Manila. The whole experience was hassle-free therefore quite enjoyable.

We like the hotel, I already introduced it to my friend who is going to the Philippines next week. We planned already that in two years we are coming back and stay at the hotel.

When I arrived there was no doorman/bellboy. The ok but there were a lot of small cockroaches, the shower knob was not working, there were cutleries but no forks and only one set of cup and saucer. The clothes cabinet is attached to the room and because of the small open window it is very hot inside and I will never stay again in this property.

No hot water, only served breakfast twice. Cockroaches in room, some charges not explained (room service), air conditioning not working properly. Light fittings not working for 40 dollars US a night I expected a bit more. Furniture old and damaged. Phone unable to make outside calls. The accommodation the most dissapointing part of the holiday.

In our 2 br suite, 1 looked great the other was shabby, lamp lights were temperamental, difficult to close door because of raggy rug and there were bugs, mostly cockroaches during the evening.

Overall a clean and simple place to stay that is slightly larger than a standard hotel room. The breakfast was very ordinary but you get what you pay for.

The location is excellent. You can just walk to Greenbelt and Glorietta. There is a 24 hour covenience store right beside the Mansion. The staff is polite and courteous and friendly. The room is big with a private veranda for your private view of makati Skyline. CONS : Too many cockroaches in kithchen and bathroom. I complained about it and the staff tried to spray it. But everyday, I have to deal with it. It''s all over the place. Other than that, the location is great and good value for the dollar.

The price of the rooms are good but the roach problems are another story. This was our second stay here and they seem to be getting worse and not better. First time we were told that they just sprayed and that''s why they were out.

I have never encountered such low hygiene standard in any philippine hotel, be it no star or 4 star! 1st day of stay ,10 cockroaches. Second day, after insect repellent sprayed (does not kill the nests), 5 cockroaches! Should any medical complications occurred, especially to elderly guests, the hotel may face big medical laims, besides adverse publicity. It''s so sad the hotel management just spray insect repellants and hope problem is solved .

It''s good that the room include electric stove, kitchen wares and other stuffs. I noticed that breakfast was a little bit delayed when we asked for it. Beddings were a bit old and looked not that fresh.

There was no hot water for a shower. I know that this is the case sometimes in the Philippines, BUT, I am an American that likes HOT showers.....but it does NOT make me want to stay away. I WILL come back again.

This is a Condotel and has to be taken as such. One cannot expect standard Hotel service - BUT - BSA Mansion comes as close as one could want. The location is great, and the service is prompt. STAY HERE!!! I will.

Location wise was convenient, except that the washroom and bedroom needs a good pest control maintenance, if the management will look after the problems that I encountered I won''t have a problem recommending it to friends and families to stay. Staff should pay more attention, be specific in giving instructions or directions and try to apply good customer service skills (they are boring).
