BEST WESTERN PREMIER Shaftesbury Hotel London
4 out of 5

I must admit that this hotel located very good comparing about transport, outgoing. I have totally positive memories about this hotel except one thing. The windows at the hotel is very old and not good isolated. I come back to Norway but as a sick person. Room temprature couldn't be warm. They must really renew the windows, or try to isolate better. It was blowing in the bathroom. Room quality and staff are very good. It was very good service.

I arrived at the hotel in good time to check in (6pm) but the receptionist told me that because of "maintenance work" there was no room available for me. Instead I was to be sent to a different hotel, in Marble Arch, by taxi at their expense. This was incredibly inconvenient seeing as I had booked this particular hotel to tie in with a business function around the corner from it. The staff were largely unapologetic and even verged on the confrontational when I pointed out how much this would disrupt my trip. The worst part was they claimed they had been "trying to contact" me but the website on which I am now writing this review [brand name removed by moderator] had not passed on my phone number or email address. I guess this is just the way they do business and I certainly will not be staying there again. Avoid.

Despite having previously registered my transaction etc my money was extracted (not just a swipe) in full before I had viewed the room - which I thought unusual - I was told it was company policy of the Best Western Premier Shaftesbury Piccadilly Hotel (and although they claim no responsibility and have 'shafted' the Shaftesbury Group - also and conjointly Precis Properties London Subsidiary and Headquarters - T/A Shaftesbury Hotels London ); Interchange and Consort Hotels Ltd (T/A Best Western Hotels GB) and London Premier Hotels Ltd). As the result of my 2011 experience and post-experience of the collective Shaftesbury/Best Western/London Premier Hotels, I would discourage all others from engaging the said services until some reconciliation of discriminatory, health and other matters and public improvement of the minute size and cleanliness of the rooms occurs. There will be interesting times ahead leading to the Olympics and particularly the Paralympics 2012 as I discuss options with my country men and women,

I was extremely disappointed with this hotel in many ways. When i arrived i paid the remaining balance by debit card and was given a receipt for this, thinking everything was fine. When my wife and i checked out the following day they said they didn't accept the card i used and they would have to refund my card and i had to pay in cash. Not only did i have to pay the balance again, but the refund takes 5 days to go through and they could've told me the situation at any time during my stay, rather than leave it until check out. Staff should be clear about payment details in the first place! Rooms were small, staff were sitting in corridors on bedding, doors didn't lock, expensive for what it was (no breakfast incl), mini-bar almost empty, smoke stains in the room, noisy air-con, bar only open til 9pm. Wont be staying here again!

Just in the middle of everything! Soho is just steps away, so is Picadilly Circus or Covent Garden or Leicester square. Staff is not really friendly, and the rooms are extremely small. Otherwise there is an LCd TV in the bathroom, and the rooms look very posh. Recommended!

Booked a suite room which had fruit on arival, and a flat screen TV in both bathroom and bedroom. Room still quite small - but usual for London. Service good - rompt booking in, friendly and quickly delivered extra milk etc. We paid ood price via Rates-to-go but rack rates usually high.

Great location! Felt like I was closer to Chinatown than Piccadilly..But still half a block to the Circus and loads of chinese restaurants right out the door! Great spot! Just what I wanted and the room was okay as well... Clean... Easy to figure out etc...I did not use the hotel facilities so cannot comment. I just wanted to be out...And I was! Perfect for me!
