Really nice room. Spotless, except for at little bit of vomit behind the toilet. Friendly front desk staff, but the cleaning crew was really loud in the halfway starting at 9:15.

Arrived and the staff was not so friendly. Room was pretty clean and everything went well, except when there started to be a lot of ants. Ants were crawling on the bed... When I asked the staff, they said "Sorry". Aside from the ants, it was ok. I am glad I did not spend a lot of time at the hotel...

Great! All the furniture and bedroom furnishing appeared new and/or well maintained. Great value, and for the location, it was perfect. Right next to the French Quarter, without the noise, dirtiness, and craziness of it.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. However, I did not appreciate some of the staff smoking right by the front entrance. The room walls were very thin, even with earplugs I could hear their conversations. The elevator sometimes takes 5-10 minutes. I was shocked when the staff double-booked my room and at 2am a (rather loud, drunk & noisy) couple walked right into the room! The location was ok for what I needed, but considering the issues above, I felt the room was very overpriced. I have been to this part of downtown N.O. several times... unfortunately, what I experienced here was not too surprising. It seems N.O. in general does not particularly cater to visitors nor expect them to return again to the same hotel. I have experienced worse in N.O. so I think my average (3.0) rating is fair.

We arrived late (around 12:30 am) and the front desk clerk was very nice. He called for the valet to get our car while he was checking me in and the valet got there before he was finished so there was no delay at all. The hotel is perfectly located! Close to the french quarter (we walked everywhere) but far enough away so you can escape the hustle and bustle when you are ready to sleep. Harrah's is around the block too if you are in the mood to gamble. The rooms were super clean and we loved the beds...very comfortable! The hotel is in an historic building and they did a nice job with keeping it modern and clean while keeping some historic touches like the exposed brick. They have wifi in the room but we didn't need it so I can't comment on that. The only con for me was the "breakfast". Items were poorly stocked (ran out of milk, paper plates, napkins, etc. by 8 am) and the coffee was not made. Also, be prepared to pay for valet as there is no other option at the hotel. We did not investigate street parking and left our car with the valet the whole weekend as we walked. I would definitely book this hotel again!

In the last 5 months I have stayed in 8 different hotels in New Orleans. I don't know if I got lucky at this place but this St. Christopher Best Western was the best value in all ways. The room had a great view with lots of light. I didn't book until that afternoon and arrived to check in 2 hrs later. The location is a stones throw from Canal St. It is an historical building. The thing that I like about these hotels that are not part of the so-called 'Up-Market' class like Hilton chain and Shereton etc is they don't charge for WiFI or local ph calls and offer a complimentary breakfast. The snob chains reason that the business class make up their clientele who don't pay out of their pockets anyway and their employer can afford to pay for services that Best Western, Hampton and others offer free. So, I would recommend this Saint Christopher Best Western or Hampton Inn at 226 Carondelet. as the two best places in the city. If you are looking for an extended stay with a kitchenette you can go past The Avenue Plaza Resort on Saint Charles Ave.

Great location! Right in between the quarter and riverwalk. Be prepared to pay $28 for hotel parking. It's worth it though. Your car is safe.

BUYER BEWARE!!! BEST WESTERN VALUES CORPORATIONS MORE THAN INDIVIDUAL PEOPLE. I made reservations for two rooms at the Best Western St. Christopher hotel on April 19, 2011. The reservations are from March 30 - April 3, 2012 to attend the NCAA Men's Final Four Championship games. I was notified yesterday that my reservations would not be honored due to a contract with the NCAA, who has reserved a block of rooms for the tournament. In addition, Best Western charged my credit card on September 8, 2011 in the amount of $400, which is most likely a deposit for my upcoming stay. I would like to know when the contract with the NCAA signed? Was it signed before or after I made my reservations? If the contract was signed after my reservations were made you should honor my reservations and tell the NCAA you only have X number of rooms available. If the contract was signed before my reservations were made Best Western should have contacted me ASAP so that I can make other arrangements. This is a huge event and hotel rooms are hard to come by and they go quickly. The way Best Western is handling this is not an acceptable way of conducting business with customers. It proves that Best Western values corporate relationships more than individual customers. I'm sure they are charging the NCAA a premium for blocking these rooms, more than they are making from my reservation.

The service was wonderful. We will definitely stay here again. We really liked the location, close enough to everything without being in the middle of the French Quarter.

This was a nice quiet alternative to the Sheraton (huge) across the way. If you want a quiet place to stay that is low key but accessible to the quarter, this is the place.
