Set in large private grounds with stunning views over the Devon countryside, BEST WESTERN Lord Haldon Country Hotel Exeter offers its guests the peace of the countryside and yet is easily accessible from the M5, A30 and A38. The city of Exeter is only 4 miles away, and a short drive will take you to the Devon coast and Dartmoor.

The Courtyard Restaurant is well known for its excellent cuisine, which has earned two red rosette awards. Menu selections are changed daily to ensure only the freshest products used and on warm evenings guests can dine outdoors in the courtyard.

I have stayed at this hotel before and the last time I stayed was in a newly re furbished room, this was excellent, really roomy and a real treat to stay in. My room this time was less so. The room itself was HUGE!!! loads of space even with a double and single bed in the room, the only issue was that it looked really old and dated. Don't get me wrong this hotel is not a new shiny, glass and chrome corporate chain and needs to stay looking a bit old and charming. It just needs a bit of updating. The food was great, I ate in the bar, Free wifi and loads of parking. Would gladly recomend just be sure to ask for the refurbed rooms.

I took advantage of the low rates through Hotel club, and was impressed particularly with the service. Internet was free, although wireless could be weak signal. Reasonable size room, very flexible with meals, and bar opening. No complaints, and great location for outlook,view etc. A bit of a winding road back to Exeter, but it really is not far. Car park large and free. A great deal.

This hotel is situated in the countryside with beautiful views over the surrounding area. Ideal for a quiet break and walks.

We only stayed for one night, but found all the staff we encountered to be friendly and exceptionally helpful. The hotel is in a rural location and set in beautiful grounds, which is great for a quiet break. We arrived quite late in the evening, but the chef willingly stayed on to cook us a meal, which was excellent. The room was warm and the bed comfortable, although the decor was showing some early signs of looking tired. This was not out of place in such a beautiful old building. We would have no hesitation returning to this hotel.
