Location
The Ayothaya Riverside Hotel overlooks Pasak River and is surrounded by natural beauty and pastoral atmosphere of Ayutthaya. It is the central province, which has been declared a city of world heritage. The hotel is situated across the railway station, and is decorated in contemporary Thai style.

This is without doubt the most god foresaken hell hole of a hotel. They would charge you for breathing the oxygen if they could find a method. Internet is 100Bt for 70 mins spent unsuccessfully trying to arrange another hotel. The only positive thing (apart from being right on the river) is they give you a free tourist map and some other freebie info about the area at check in. It is filthy, the food is terrible, in dire need of some investment, in summary a disgrace. Obviously it makes money servicing bus ladden tourists who come late at night and leave early. Luckily in Ayutthaya they had the huge visiting market with some top Thai acts performing for next to nothing, when I stayed there, otherwise 1 day would have been plenty of time as Wat hopping is not my idea of fun.

some fixtures like switches, faucets connection need replacements and /or repairs, hallway are poorly lighted
