Very Central Hotel Didnt realise it was a Gay hotel until we arrived, however all Staff were really friendly and Hotel was spotless

Our first stay in Spain and our first hotel in Spain. The experience was excellent. Being train enthusiasts we tended to use the system a lot and so wanted to book a hotel close to a station. The location of the hotel to the metro is just a block down from the hotel meaning carrying or trundling luggage is not an issue. The room smelt good and were well presented and clean, I loved the lotions and potions provided including the gorgeous soaps. The cafe was nice and funky, as is reception worth a trip just to sit in one of the big chairs at reception. The bar are was also funky. Loved the toilets on the ground floor as well, very Ali McBeal style. (for those who watched Ali McBeal). Thank you for the great experience we will be back next Christmas.

This hotel is close to everything, the rooms are nice and modern, and the staff was very nice. Good place for couples, gay or straight. Even though the hotel is marketed to gay people, there were just as many straight couples staying there. I will always stay at Axel when I return to Barcelona.
