Salzburg Climate
In general, the climate of the Salzburg region is humid and cool. In the summer months, temperatures can reach well above 30ºC; however, the temperature is typically cool enough to enjoy various outdoor activities without feeling uncomfortably warm. During the winter months, there is enough snow to facilitate a magnificent skiing trip, and the cold outdoors provides a fantastic opportunity to peruse local galleries and museums.
Getting There & Around
The Salzburg Airport has a number of scheduled flights to other major European cities, as well as a few chartered flights. Frequent east-west railway connections facilitate travel from Vienna, Munich, Innsbruck and Zürich to the area.
The area is home to a reliable trolley, bus and S-Bahn system. Tickets for all of these can be bought at the various stations or automated ticket machines dispersed throughout the city.
